Since this thread resurfaced I'm going to recommended the manga to everyone again. It's just so full of bro-ness. Merry and Yumeji actually brofist from across panels! and John Doe brofist Merry's feet till she flies over the bad guys and lands a kamen rider kick on the mini boss. And they often team up with their broness to fight bad guys. They also play video games like true bros! BROS BROS BROS. Did I mention bros? Because the manga is full of it. Uterus complications to feed the whales. Twisting islands of concrete and yaks keep the negative space alive. Ever growing pizza party of gerbils with rabies. Connect the pimples into the pine tree that you always wanted as a pet. Dogs made of ground horse meat walk the streets. Bestiality meat fucking. Clowns in cars with yarn and riddles. Drink the sand it's friendly. But those who build planes will surely know where the medicine is contained. The squid's corneas quiver to the sight of you. Eggplant gymnastics where's the panties? They're with the panda who loves licking ladders. ~The sign of MAL's death |

I feel bad for the author. To hear even the director thinks the project is a failure has to hurt badly. If anyone should express confidence in it, it should be the director.. even if they don't feel so, they shouldn't say so publicly. :/ |

jmal said: Chiibi said: I loved this anime and think all you haters are insane.o_O Is there anyone who hates this who DIDN'T read the manga first? I really liked the show for the most part, and Merry is a godly-tier character design, which is pretty much why I ended up importing it. But there are two glaring flaws that really bothered me: 1) terribly disjointed and awkward action sequences and 2) a really bad, rushed ending. Everything else was so good that it really bothers me that it performed so poorly in these areas. I didn't really see anything wrong with the action sequences and I expect that kind of ending when the manga hasn't ended yet and the show is 13 episodes.... Are you including the director as an insane hater? Uh........sure? But lawl, why even direct something you hate!? If you really hate something, you can't possibly put your all into that project....which is why when people ask me to draw characters I hate, I always go "No, sorry, I can't." XD its kinda suck anime There's nothing that makes it a "suck anime". -_- btw you have "suck grammar" Modified by Chiibi, 07-13-12, 6:38 PM ![]() |

The show is good..it is not super awesome but it's good. Maybe because i read so much bad stuff about anime and started to watch it with low expectations..and turn out to be nice show....it is just that ending...if there is not going to be 2nd season they could at least make proper ending with, let's say, whole series of 24-25 ep-s...more character development, more action and cool ending = awesome overall! ..no? |

Where the heck did all the hate for this show come from? It was pretty decent, and was done better than others of the type like Kuro Usagi. And how was it supposed to be moe? This isn't K-On or Haruhi. Whatever. I plan on buying and enjoying the blu-ray. ![]() |

My issues with the Merry anime: 1. The real villain did nothing - showed up for about 5 seconds to never be seen again. 2. The latter half of the series felt drawn out. 3. The messed up ending they gave it - an invisible trumpet? ...Why? 4. Very little MC involvement/development - nothing much was explained or hinted about his power. I think it was good for the most part but the ending was messed up and I read the manga afterwards and his excuse about moe still made no sense to me. The manga is a great read for me and if they can I think it should be redone to follow the manga more. -end of fan rant- |

It ended bloody well better then any crappy ending you'd get in real life and it was a good ride with colourful characters and emotion it might not have been the best at times but i enjoyed it! |
