Okay, so I'll post first to give an example of what I mean above, if it isn't quite obvious.. :P

~I personally like watching new anime each season. This time, however, I wasn't so much in the mood of starting anything new and I kept loyal to just some ongoing shows that I already watch, like Naruto Shippuuden, Bleach..~

But then I came upon "Deadman Wonderland"[1]
I had read lots of chapters of the manga and I had also heard rumours of it turning into an anime. I had, though, completely lost track of time, so I was taken by surprise that it had come out so soon. Regardless to say, I immediately picked it up and I wasn't at all dissappointed! It's painfully dark, so dark that it hurts. You know all about the very famous Murphy's law, right? Well it's this made into an anime. Poor protagonist has no luck whatsoever, everything is turning from bad to worse.. that's all I'll say for now..

Then a couple of days ago I thought of trying out "Ao No Exorcist"[2]
which literally means "Blue Exorcist".. (you will know why when you watch it!) I had heard a lot of talk around it, how good it was, etc.., from friends and random chats around MAL and other anime forums. So I decided to pick it up as well.
I am surprised to say it was REALLY REALLY good! I found it refreshing, it catches your interest from the very beginning and it spins you around in this whole mess of its story. I don't want to reveal anything about it, you should just start watching it, maybe better without reading anything about it. While watching, you might be reminded of anime such as FMA Bro, Soul Eater.. and other shows as such.. i will say no more now, go watch it!!

Briefly.. my suggestions:

just started last night on Deadman Wonderland...wow, i felt like MY eyes were gonna start bleeding...and i mean that in a good way >_<
i'm only 2 episodes into it so i'll reserve any further commentary or analysis until i get a little further (hopefully tonight, as long as dinner doesn't take too long, yum), but yes justice you were right..definetely not a feel-good story...and the last thing i needed right now was a feel-good story. thanks for the recomm. ^_^

From the ongoing animes I'm watching Deadman Wonderland (great!) , Ao no Exorcist and Dog Days. Both are very good, but I think Deadman Wonderland with its planned 12 episodes is a bit short. It is a perfect combination of crime, horror, sci-fi and supernatural, so I would recommend it to everyone who likes these genres.
Ao no Exorcist is another good stuff as a mix of horror, mystery and supernatural about demons. I have seen the first six episodes and it is very promising, but I didn't like the 5. episode, because it was a stupid filler about the cooking abilities of the hero. It is promised to have 24 episodes and I really hope there will not be too many fillers.
The third anime watching from this season is Dog Days, an innocent, but entertaining fantasy anime without any bloodshed or violence, where the heroes have to perform acrobatic jerks in order to win the battle. It's not excellent, but it can be seen.

I'm watching Kaiji 2 and 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku (<-- I watch it, because it 's short).
I gonna drop 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku.

Kaiji 2 is good, but to wait one week for the next episode turn me down. I suggest, you should wait for finishing airing and watch serveral episodes.
Kaiji is about gambling ... Some guys are cheating and Kaiji is the victim. But he finds dirty tricks out soon and make his come back.

I will watch Appleseed XIII.

i have been watching deadman, blue exorcist, hashi, tiger and bunny. i had high hopes for exorcist and deadman...sadly both have let me down.
exorcist started off real strong and went to a snail pace, but the last episode showed hints of it not sucking again which made me happy.
deadman is good and horrible at the same time. no real story to it but its fun to watch the death and ganta being stupid.
OH! how could i forget steins gate the best new show that i have seen anyway. WATCH IT!

There's this little show called Bleach that's airing now, not sure if anyone's heard about it...

Exorcist is on my to watch list and so is Fairy Tail. I'm waiting for English dubs, that's my prefered viewing style.

I only heard about bleach last summer (from someone who was bashing it) and now I love it

Lotus, I've also got Ao no Exorcist and Fairy Tail on my watch lists, but they're not at the top of the list just yet. I've got loads of older (not-ongoing) shows I'd like to watch first.

I come across so many profiles that score Bleach either 4 or 5 and I'm like "c'mon" they've probably only watched one episode. I have yet to give anything a score that low...

I gave Ginga Nagareboshi Gin a 5. It's my absolute least favorite series ever. A friend of mine said "You should watch it! It's great!" so many times, I went ahead and watched it. I'm definitely not a fan. I disliked it from the first episode, but I finished it and its sequel. I liked Ginga Densetsu Weed, but it's not exactly one of my favorites either.

But, if I'd started Bleach on the wrong episode (one of the Don Kanonji episodes, for example, since I usually hate them) I might not have continued watching it. But I'd list it as "dropped" rather than give it a low rating.

Y'mean like kicking Aizen's butterfly ass? Yes. I do think that.

This new stuff seems too much like filler, even though supposedly it's not.

i despise filler with all my little black heart.

I gave meolody of oblivion a 1 because i wasted a couple hours of my life on it hoping it would get better...and it didnt. i also hated Basilisk a lot as well.

Bleach is GREAT, but without the fillers..

I have given anime a 1/10 score, i think it was for 11 Eyes.. I've also given many shows a score under 5. I believe the scores between the shows should vary, otherwise there wouldn't be scores from 1 to 10.. And there really are shows that deserve under 5 unfortunately..

Since you mentioned Bleach, what about my Naruto??? I've come to love this show, Shippuuden is really amazing, by far much better than the first Naruto series!

I don't know about Bleach.. you know it's on a long filler period right? after the whole Aizen thing.. (awesome times!). But yeah..
I don't know if Lotus is still watching and could give us some info on it..?
Do we know when the real story starts again?

Ao is amazing so far, not counting that stupid filler episode though, but yeah.. last episode 7, was COOL!!
Deadman Wonderland is pretty cool too. Maybe I like it a lot cause I have read some of the manga past the episode running now..

I think Deadman has a really good story premise, but 12 episodes are short..
