Pretty much my expression too...

In the first place, this doesn't need fanservice. I don't know if it's the stupid producers' or director's decision, but what the hell? - ok, I admit the fanservice was beautifully done, but still out of place.

Also, Ohana's reactions were hard to believe, even for a girl that "goes with the flow." And the grandmother that doesn't mind Ohana being tied in bondage?, even if "innocently" done, even if consensual, it's still molesting a minor...

On the other hand, the one part that made me laugh was when Ohana said the novelist helped her realize something about herself... for a second there I thought she was gonna say she was a lesbian.

Anyway, I guess my main problem is that my expectations were built too high from the previous episodes, this wasn't all that bad, simply not nearly as good as the others... I'm still eager to see the next episode...

Well that was pretty wild of the novelist like everyone says in the following,

looks like he likes bondage and is quite the pervert from the looks of the spoiler
Of course I knew that since last episode easily from how he looked at Ohana.

Looks like Nako has yuri tendencies from the looks of the following,

and so does Minko from the looks of the following spoiler
not only that she has also the bust that goes with it. Of course her stitch in the spoiler
sure shows a the better figure of her at best...wet!

All in all the novelist is a pathetic suicidal fellow whom I also felt he was pathetic from last episode. I hope Ohana taught him some 101 life lessons of how to keep it up from going to waste.

Yeah it was out of place and I just wonder if the BD/DVDs will have more skin to show but all that is so unnecessary in this series IMO. There are plenty of other ones this season that do a far better job.

It's still is molesting a minor! She can press charges against MR. Novelist and have a scandal going on towards the inn.

Ohana of course meant life lessons as her mother completely corrupted her mind with not trusting anyone in episode 2. Of course Ohana had her first experience in bondage but I am not sure she will apply that in her sexual future life. Not sure at all in fact.

Lol the yuri scenes are kinda funny. Especially when the author popped his head in and the mood went down from there.

Best moment had to be the beanman blushing from the idea of bondage. :D

Ohana is just weird, but thats what I like about her. For the episode, well I guess it was good. There were some funny moments too.

I like that zoom effect that took the camera through the whole place. xD

Wow. He actually tied her up...and Ohana acted like it was nothing after she got the gag off. Couldn't he go to jail for that?

LOL they animated the novel! Hilarious. Lmfao that old man.

I like how everyone piles in the van to chase after him when he steals the truck.

Nako proved herself by saving that dude after he jumped...I didn't expect her to do it at all. The new insult Minko came up with for Ohana is cute too.

Why?????
This ep just smashed what the previous 2 managed to build up. Useless fanservice can be found in every other anime, there should be no need to put it into something like this. Maybe they just didn't know how to follow up, seeing as this is an original production.

Would be nice if it went back to coming of age drama, and didn't go down the comedy/fanservice route.

From seeing Law and Order SVU unless Ohana presses charges in Japan it can be considered as sexual harassment indeed going as far as sexual abuse. Age of consent is 16 so I am guessing she did not mind it at all somehow.

With you that makes it a majority so far as 3 of us and more are against it. Fan service just GTFO from this series, you need to be replaced with drama and rich emotional moments. Right? Leave animes like Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai to do the job better.

Unfortunately it failed me since episode 1 compared to Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai, which moved me since episode 1. This whole series is going to take some time to build up into something as dense as Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai drama. I will be looking forward to that but for now it's kind of mediocre at best although the art and interactions of characters are nice.

That's a good point. And now that I think about it, calling the police would also put Ohana on the spot, and since she herself didn't make a big fuss, it would just be an unnecessary burden for her.

But I still think Ohana is weird...

Indeed, even the anime title is about the coming of age (blooming flowers? it can't be more obvious.)

Trying to mix other stuff to please more people is always a bad choice. They should stick with what was previously established...

Even though i enjoyed the episode but thought that, this show would be more serious in the drama genre.
Ohana being all nonchalant at the bondage scene most probably was meant to deliver a 'lol scene'
Liking Minko a lot now and surprisingly, Chiaki Omigawa has improved her VA skills.

Some people want straight serious business for 20 something episodes. You guys need to chill :D. Despite the fanservice, there was still a ton of character development and I loved the ending with her in the room finding Minko's notebook + the text from Ko

looking forward to her starting school

This, this, a thousand times this.
Agreed. I don't know why they did that. So unnecessary. And I hate yuri, even implied. >_>

Aside from the random fanservice, this episode was still enjoyable, though not as much as the earlier two. Finally some softness to Minko's and the grandmother's characters. Personally, I wouldn't have minded waiting several episodes for that, but if it helps everyone else realize they're not demons, then that's good. :P

Tooru was so awesome. It's weird that I like his character so much when he's only got a minor role. Watching him chase after the novelist was funny.

I would've liked it better if Ohana had a different reaction to being captured and bonded, but I guess that's just her level-headedness showing through.

it was a funny episode. people need to relax this is only episode 3, if it was serious all the time it wouldn't be as fun.

Well, that was unexpected and unnecessary...

Sudden explosion of fanservice just completely destroyed the integrity and mature atmosphere built up from the previous episodes. That's not to say it wasn't an enjoyable episode though, because it definitely had me laughing on numerous occasions (especially the old man blushing XD), and not to mention, there's again quite a bit of character development. It's just that I'd rather not see ecchi to such a huge extent in a show like this. Really cheapens the whole thing.

I was really dissapointed in this episode T.T

I had such high expectations because this series had, in the first two episodes, been good enough to build them. I was looking for some good drama and character development when suddenly, random bondage and other fanservice scenes are popping up? WTF?

Anyways, other then that, it's still good. Love that shot where it zoomed through the halls, I thought that was pretty cool.

Odd how the best series of the season are the moe series.

That has to be a first.

Here's how I view the three girls in the show from what I've seen so far...

Ohana = Boke + Masochist + Some Potential Signs of Yandere

Nako = Yuri Fanservice(?) + Shy Girl

Minko = Tsukkomi + Tsundere

Now, I wonder how Yuina will be like in the next episode. :p
