Did they make video edits to Rockman.exe/NT Warrior, or do you just mean language?

There were actual video edits when they dubbed it, at least originally when it aired. Some were actually done to improve the original scenes, others though were not. The American show actually never aired some episodes either. Rockman.exe Online is a good source of all the changes made. The ones that I was bothered with were the ones like Rockman's sword was blurred so that it did not appear sharp. I had some problem with the voices too though.

I find the idea of Light Yagami virus-busting to be hilarious, personally. But damn. I guess I'll have to watch it subbed at some point - I've only seen the bulk of it dubbed, I could never find the rest.

Whenever I do watch the whole thing, though, one thing I will miss from the dub is Mr. Match's Scottish accent. I loved that guy. =(

Karin... I'm watching it right now and (just a personal opinion) Karin's English voice almost made my ears bleed.
Fantastic Children also had a terrible English dub (overall, not just one or two voices).

On a related note, Serial Experiments Lain also comes to mind. While the dub itself was actually very nicely done, Lain's Japanese seiyu really seemed to put life into the character, with a slightly different voice for each of her personalities.

Karin: Kenta and Karin's voices sounded really really off to me. It was painful to listen to.

Gravitation: one word: monotone.

Cardcaptor sakura dub by far, change names, the names they do keep they mispronounce, voice acting is bad, and is overall a disgrace to clamp's masterpiece!
Mysterious things are everywhere. So bizarre as often as you can hear of them. Without witness, with sight unseen, without a care it is simply a phenomenon. Merely not of concern. In this world, mankind itself has its own fantastic wonders.

Did you select Queen's Blade because of Jessica Calvello's voicing of Nanael to be high-pitched irritating? I wonder if Aya Hirano's was that much better?

You know it's bad news when they decide to pronounce Sakura like Shakira.

There's not a specific thread for this, so I'm just going to post it here: I've just started watching MegaMan NT Warrior/MegaMan.exe subbed.

4Kids improved just about everything.

Especially the voices, though. Lan/Netto's mother in Japanese sounds like she's in middle school, and Dex/Daiko just sounds totally off from what I imagined (having played the games). About the worst part of all of it was when a character was supposed to be whistling and the Japanese actor just went "WOO WOO!", because I assume he couldn't whistle. About the only thing 4Kids did wrong was remove one or two episodes and -- debatably - change the names. I don't really mind the names, personally.

Rurouni Kenshin always stands out for me. Very flat...not sure what else to say. I feel bad for the people who "grew up" watching it on TV, but they probably just got used to it.

Crest/Banner of the Stars. A superb series, and again a cardboard dub.

I also find that a lot of the stuff friends of mine watched on Toonami in the States (I never had it since I live in Canada, and YTV didn't show anime that long ago) don't really impress me much dub-wise.
Well I kinda like it as I think its the best viz ever done and thats saying a lot.

The dub I hate the most is anything by 4kids which pretty much everybody knows at this point. And pretty much most of the hentai dubs as while I think the subs are annoying and cheesy at times, at least they did better then the dubs as they are so poorly voice!

Anything made by 4kids.

Evangelion- It was horribly annoying to no end.
Appleseed Exmachina- Bleh
Naruto- Very annoying
Eureka 7- They can't even pronounce Eureka right.
Well what do you expect as when pronouncing the names in english it will always sound wrong. I heard many good dubs and bad ones but I never heard them getting it right and I got use to it by this point.

- I've never had any problems with Rurouni Kenshin. Not because I'm "used to it," but because I really don't think it's that bad a dub.

- You must have seen the wrong Toonami shows, then. They range from some of the worst ever (Sailor Moon) to some of the best ever (Yu Yu Hakusho), and everywhere inbetween.

- I've seen one or two decent hentai dubs; but it's true that most of them are about as bad as dubs come.

- Since when are Japanese names in English dubs inherently pronounced wrong? I can't think of a single dub I've heard this happen in to date. Names have been CHANGED in some of the really bad ones, but not just plain mispronounced. I could maybe pull out one or two series at MOST if I really dug into my list. Unless you're talking about inflection, in which case I can't really comment on due to lack of experience. But if that is the case, there are just as many instances (if not more) of Japanese actors/actresses trying to speak English lines and flailing.

It's true that I hate high-pitched voices, but also the other VA's just don't seem to do a very good job. Then again, it's Queen's Blade, I can't think of it apart from being a joke all together.

The other characters were nothing memorable voice-wise. They did have one funny line which I posted in another topic here. At least Master of Martial Hearts (more dreadful panty fighter anime) had Cherami Leigh (who would later voice Lucy in Fairy Tail) and some Funis to give some personality.

I just watch a old OAV called "Very Private Lesson". And the dub was hilariously bad.

OMG, that dub was horrendous. It may be one of the few anime dubs that do make it feel like my ears are bleeding.

Well, the dub is not good. The acting is flat and they do misprounce various Japanese words thoughout the series. But I enjoy it. The Sony one is waaay worse, so by comparison the verison most kids in the US watch is a masterpiece.

Yu Yu Hakusho is amazing dub, but I must admit not in the tradional way. The dub is good because gave chacters depth and personality just from their voice, its also really funny and witty. But, the acting could be stiff...alot, ecspecially oneshot and background characters. Though considering the time period alot of the anime broadcast in toonami, I can image the dubs can be kind of "meh" to fresh ears used to current dub.

It was common back in the 80s and 90s dubs. Especially the cheaper produced ones. It's dated complaint, but it has happened.

What do you mean by changes the script? The very practice of translating and adapting a script to English, will cause it to have changes.
