| I watch anything by Shaft, but this was a lot better than expected. It does resemble Arakawa, but with a younger cast. The pacing was spot on, I was watching this with a broad grin on my face throughout the entire ep, including the OP. A male lead who concludes that a girl is so gorgeous, god had to correct it with a huge minus in the brain-department, is win in my book. And aside from the usual head-tilts, it looks like they've hired an animator with a foot-fetish for this ep :D |

| Well some bits were SHAFT like while others were like "Did SHAFT really do this?" - is this the start of a new side to SHAFT? Overall it was a fun episode; I definitely consider this one of the "must watches" of this season. Also (I don't care as I'm not much into the fanservice thing but I'm curious...) Was the censor for Erio's panty shot due to the new laws being enforced where they want to ban the use of underage kids being displayed in inappropriate ways in the media?  |

Not just the fact that it came from a male lead though, it's just a great statement. I liked Makoto as soon as he started interacting with Meme anyway, so it just confirmed that he's a good character in my eyes. He strikes me as a tsukkomi-type character and I love those types of leads. I can't wait to hear what else he has to say when talking to people and in response to the strange things that Erio has to say. |

There are quite a few references to various works. I Googled one of the names that was mentioned and got Crayon Shin-chan, of all things. This anime seems kind of boring to me. The conversations have a whole lot of arbitrary nonsense in them, and really the only things that hint at a plot are the beginning and end. Still, I'm interested in the premise, so I'll keep watching and see what they do with it. |
| First of all, the songs were AMAZING!! I liked how completely non-cliche this show is, in that its destroying cliches. Erio was just adorable the whole episode, i'm hooked just on her I kinda expected some more of the usual SHAFT-ness from this show, but for a while I just couldn't tell it was even SHAFT, which ironically, is just like them |

| Wow... A seamless Shitbo show? The annoying VA who voiced Arakawa's Kou & Bakamono's Arararararagi with his faggotry of a shouting voice doesn't voice the main guy? You gotta be kidding me! Well, since Shitbo did Soredemo Machi, he seems to be making less pompous 'artistic' crap, prolly ran outta ideas & sugar or getting tired of his new fapping obsession (The headtilt, with teh EYES before that) or something.... Actually, that's a good thing, for me at least, even though there are still some annoying aspects such as the GDOawful rather unfunny convo between the guy & his aunt regarding blanket girl. But since I don' read the source materials, I can only assume that it might be what it actually was and Shitbo faithfully adapted it. Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable (especially the aunt, that's what I call 'authentic moe', not the moe shit kind) and I can only hope that SHAFT will be able to maintain this quality till the end cuz it looks to me like they already spent their entire budget on female characters' design, especially the oh-so-FUKKEN-blue hair.... |

| That aunt is rather interesting. Caring more about herself then her daughter and not even admitting she is there i wonder how that household has form that way. I have to say tho with her being so strange it's not a surprise that her daughter is pretty strange as well the question is what was up with the start and why does she thing she is a alien? |
