THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Strange, but okay to watch. I like the opening a lot. college student, fansubber, occasional poster |

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to run that far that fast while wearing samurai armor. Still a fun show, even if it was surprisingly over the top in parts. |

I read the manga and saw the raw at the same time, it seems to be a faithful adaption except for some scenes which were rewritten. As far as material the first ep covers, the anime is a bit slow paced, some scenes are drawn out longer like that scne where he ran far off to catch the thing. Also at the end its not sausuke who talks to the lord at the end, but some other famous tea-maker who criticezes the color of the ship And the scene where he kills the guy at the end, in the manga they show the head is cut off and some blood showers, but the violences seems toned down here. I'm probably going to read the manga and watch the eps for while together and drop the anime If its too slow or isnt well adapted, cuz the manga seems pretty cool at this point. "Droll thing life is—that mysterious arrangement of merciless logic for a futile purpose. The most you can hope from it is some knowledge of yourself—that comes too late—a crop of unextinguishable regrets." - Joseph Conrad (Heart of Darkness) |

I guess I'll give this a fair shake if there's a sub, it doesn't seem to bad but honestly it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. The whole plot seems downright silly, and not really in a good way either. I'm not much for the quirky senine shows, favorite studio or no favorite studio. |

This was very slow and very boring. Typical BeeTrain... how do they stay in business I have no idea. |

I watched the first two raw then read the manga chapters but now, it is subbed! First episode anyway...here's hoping it will be subbed to the end. I am glad Bee Train chooses to do series that are not run-of-the-mill boring school life silly moe stuff. |

Bee Train. Destroying interesting manga since 1997. I'm not touching this with a 10-meter stick taped on another 10-meter stick. |

Well, for one I dig the setting in general, but I find it especially interesting as I've been playing the hell out of Total War: Shogun 2 in recent weeks. I had low expectations. Very low expectations that were formed the minute I read "tea ceremony" in one preview. The direction, music, and setting were enough to keep me interested and exceed my meager expectations. That said, without subs I didn't find it quite interesting enough watch without interruption. Every several minutes I'd pause it and do something for a little bit then come back. Hopefully it gets subbed at some point. |

Suddenly, subs out of nowhere. As for the episode itself, it was very slow paced and pretty boring. If this is how Bee Train plans to fill up 39 episodes, I doubt I could handle it. On the other hand, the story does seem to be fairly interesting. Sasuke is lovable and somewhat fabulous, and makes for a pretty entertaining lead. For now, I'm interested in seeing where the show goes. I just hope that the pace picks up in the next few episodes. Also, the OP and ED are pretty great. The jazzy, modern songs give off a Samurai Champloo/ House of Five Leaves vibe, which I very much like (even if it gives me the feeling that Bee Train is just copying elements from those shows). |

Christ, that was far better than I would have though Bee Train could ever hope to do. I think they handled it very well... It was intense and incredibly relaxing at the same time. I've been itching for a good historical anime for a while, and this shit is it. Here's hoping Huzzah doesn't drop it! <img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a112/kaasaaaaaan/fantasticsig2copy.png" /> |

Surprised how many people have complained this is a slow paced show, and really with a plot like this centers on Furuta Sasuke, a vassal of the great warlord Oda Nobunaga and a man obsessed with tea ceremony and material desires in his pursuit of a fortuitous life were you really expecting an adrenalin pumping action show? |

That was great! Honestly, wtf you talkin' bout, that was not too slow paced. This is like bee train in overdrive. I am glad they didn't ruin it. I love aesthetics, and I love tea, and I love history, and I love war, and I love their facial expressions. |

Holy shit. This episode was so good that I didn't even know that Bee Train made it, and for Christ's sake, people, this isn't supposed to be some stupid moeshit series or an action series. If you haven't noticed yet, it's a comedy. I don't get how anyone could watch this and expect to see a bunch of fights in it. |

Thank god this got subbed! It was a decent episode and they adapted it close to the (award winning) manga so far. Can't wait for the second episode. |

I wasn't even planning on watching this on the first place, but I'm glad to have given it a chance. |

And honestly: If you are expecting fights in an anime about politics and tea, you are a goddamn moron. |
