Is it just me or does it legitimately say that this is scored 9.41? Furthermore over 700 people have already scored it. This is unbelievable. After a single episode, the score shot up to far beyond first place?

Well, Gintama fans are happy that it's back so that makes sense. I'm sure the episode must be quite good as well.

Woah. From 9.16 yesterday (scored by 300+ users) it skyrocketed to 9.41 (scored by 700+ users). This is seriously a serious business! I'm going to rate it after few more episodes.

usually I don't rate until I watch further eps, but in this case I feel it's direct continuation of the first 4 seasons and not only that, the first episode was so epic it far exceeded my expectations... Gintama is so unique it stands out from other parody/crack shows and it deserves the recognition. 9.43 now btw xD

(also, I think only fans would continue to watch the next season. I never watch further seasons of shows I hated and/or dropped.. of course when/if this moves to the top of the list, I'm sure we'll get trolls scoring it low again :/)

It damn well deserves it.

We've been waiting for over a year for more Gintama, and they hit us with a truckload of what we've been missing.

9.46 now... but this episode deserves it. I am quite sure that the only people who rated it lower than 9-10 are either haters/trolls or those supercritical guys who never give high ratings or maybe new viewers who don´t get the epicness of this episode because they miss out on the backward references. Anyways, I gave it an instant 10, too. Will adjust the rating if the season turns out to be lame, which I doubt.

If only the Top Anime page would actually update. Would love to see Gintama in first place again.

Doesn't the score counts only after some amount of votes?

It deserves it. And indeed it was a great ep.

The score only contributes towards the Top Anime page when it comes from users who have seen at least 40% of the episodes. Since Gintama' has an unknown amount of episodes it can't be put on the Top Anime page yet.

But at least the score is something you can be proud of. xD

This is not surprising. Gintama is the pinnacle of all animes. Nothing can even begin to compare.

too bad that doesn't really stop the trolls.. but at least there werent *too* many of them. Gintama still has a great rating and we know only awesome ppl can appreciate this series ;D

First episode was brilliant. Gintama' deserves its score. Bow doen to the best anime ever.

I don't rate based on first episodes...but if I did this one was worth a 10...

Most haters of Gintama won't have watched it (yet at least) especially given there's 201 episodes before this, and the excitement of it's return, of course it's gonna be highly rated! All the fanboys are out :P

This new season from Gintama' score 10, dont only for return, but this return begins with the future saga from manga, Sunrise genius!!!!

9.48 now, damn well deserved, still low though, 10 would be perfect, but ofcourse that'll never happen, haters out there, psshh..

I gave the first season a 10. ..and well after reading bits of the manga I know this season has a strong base to go on. Also Sunrise handles the show very well and passionately so I know I won't be disappointed.

Yeah, it definitely deserves its score. Best comedy anime you could ask for.
