If you are OK with being spoiled about the orginal TV series then here is what I think the anime creators are doing:

The episode was quite interesting and funny, but they made Dean look a little too pathetic. He has been almost entirely useless in this adaptation, so I hope they finaly show just how awesome he can be.

Yes the cobra did make a cute face, the whole episode was really anime like, but it didn't really bother me, cuz this ep was brilliant. They rip of the final destination theme from the rabbit foot ep, but made the whole background different and for me it was a WIN.The tv show also had some comedy episodes so it's quite nice for the anime to include one.
As for Meg, remember that in anime the Winchesters didn't really see her in ep 7 so it's not so weird for Sam not to recognize her in TV(but then again she did introduce herself as Meg Masters, and he knew the name...). Let's face it, no one ever said that the anime will be canon, but so far no major plot changes were made.

Irritating is not the word I'd use. Infuriating is more correct. Her reveal and build up in tv show was AWESOME. Anime turned it into cliche sick daughter origins story, so i guess we won't get her TRUE introduction episode animated...

Anyway had to fast-forward this episode. Japanese trying to replicate SN comedy = no good. Not to mention that this was basically country-friendly bastardization of Rabbits Foot episode.

THis is example of rabbits foot comedy done RIGHT:

no major plot changes?

DEAN SAW BLOODY MARY IN THE PAST FFS.
Oh and whole YED throwing hints at who he is, he would NEVER do that.
Not to mention that Sam knowing who Meg is INVALIDATES her introduction episode(which was one of the most awesome season1 episodes)
Replacing Vampire runaways with crappy Father-Son Vampires destroys Dean and Sam character development they have got in that original episode.

Thanks to the changes there is basically NO BUILD UP TO YED's reveal or anything to do with main storyline.

AND GOT PEOPLE STOP SPOILING HIS NAME IN SOME VERY UNLIKELY CASE SOMEONE WHO DID NOT SEE THE SHOW COMES UPON THESE THREADS.
Last episode thread already had someone casually throwing YED's name around.

Oh no, that was the worst episode so far. If they had to include some japanese legend, why not choose something better then this old man?

Absolutely horrible episode. I can't believe they would do something like that.

THE IMPALA SERIOUSLY. WHAT THE HELL.

Too much comedy, too much trying to make the show Japanese. As a fan of the original show, this episode just... made me extremely angry. The more I watch of Supernatural the Animation, the more these little things seem to pile up.
