THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.

That was an interesting first chapter and the concept is intriguing enough. The futility of the pair's flight was touching. Looks like this series is episodic, although I am curious if there is any overarching plot. Either way, the chapter was a nice read, and the art had a clean, polished feel to it.

Definitely looking forward to more.

yeah, I like the setting and evil protagonist(more like he's the antagonist himself).

I agree, the setting and character are great. Nice change from the usual.

Already liking this for having this kind or rare obscure setting for manga in general. I mean, setting it in the Holy Roman Empire is something very unusual. And this is also a breath of fresh air for seeing a main protagonist acting that way. Because It's making relating to him even more difficult.

Finaly, this description taken form Kotonoha makes this manga even more promising.

"What sets this manga apart is the fact that there's rarely a happy ending for our protagonists. The author pulls no punches to show us just how brutal and inhuman the Middle Ages really were."

No wonder that it is from the former assistent of the Berserk mangaka. Similar setting and such. Need more of it. I hope they will translate chapter 02 sometime..

I can help but notice the fact that at some points the character design looked like Casshern Sins, apart from that loved the concept of episodic chapters much like Bradherley no Basha at times, when the characters seem to struggle with no hope in a good end.
And btw the cover art is great, i wished they would license this in english

I loved this. The art, the plot, everything, it's very cruel and a good showing of how nasty these times were (speaking of which, the sword fight was pretty good. Only mango I've seen that showed halfswording). What I wonder is whether this will ever be continued (oh cthulhu I hope) and whether this will have an overarching story. I'd kind of like the plot if it wasn't episodic, but if it was I guess I'd still be ok as long as they keep the story fresh.

It's certainly not rainbows and sunshine, as much as I sympathize the characters, the manga is too addicting to put it down. Argh, I'm such a masochist.
