THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I'm a little unsure what to think of this final story. Like the first and second series, the third Galaxy Angel series ends with a strange episode, but the other finales were more straightforward compared to this. My impression was that this episode was a straight-faced parody of stories that become terribly convoluted and end with trite, maudlin sentimentality. But I feel like I could be wrong. Could they actually have attempted to do a completely serious story for the end? Maybe do something that was more like the style and tone of the computer games that originated the characters? If they did maybe they succeeded too much; the games are pretty badly written if the first (the only one available in English right now) is any indication. |

I wish they would have made a serious show about the games. It's to bad they didn't. I am still amazed that the last episode of this series was actually pretty good for their only "serious" ish episode. |
