According to the official web diary, the President of ufotable Kondo Hikaru said the Blu-ray box sets of Kara no Kyoukai have sold out in the US. Before the release, one of the local distributers asserted that the more than $300 price was ridiculously high in the US and that nobody would purchase it. Kondo didn't disclose how many sets have been sold, but he had a toast with the local buyers, who were also astonished at the sales. Kondo is visiting San Francisco to attend the screening of Kara no Kyoukai. Source: ufotable webdiary Modified by Naruleach, 02-06-11, 6:27 PM |

This may be a stupid question, but I am assuming that these Blu-rays are neither subbed or dubbed in english, right? |

ios said: Americans are rich lol, no wonder they are a super power of this world If only that were true. A lot of people don't have enough for this box set. I would have bought it but I'm one that lacks $300 to blow on a box set. :( And too bad it's not dubbed. Oh well. :P I'm very happy that it sold out! :) It's always nice to hear that there are still people willing to support the industry. :) You can find me on IRC. |

I don't want to see anime fans complain about DVDs being expensive after this. If you can afford a $300 boxset, you can surely afford $30 for a series you like! Modified by ARXLaevatein, 02-06-11, 7:38 AM |

We will complain as much as we want, just because there are rich people who can afford it doesn't mean we can all afford it. ios said: Americans are rich lol, no wonder they are a super power of this world No they aren't. Money isn't the reason why it's the super power, otherwise it wouldn't be right now. ![]() |

There are still a few more left. Check out the "Quantity Remaining" at the bottom of the price. HERE I'll get mine on Tuesday. ^_^ Modified by TexKlanZ, 02-06-11, 8:14 AM |

Maybe if I actually HAD a blu-ray player I would buy it. It would just set back my anime purchasing for a while. |

ios said: Americans are rich lol, no wonder they are a super power of this world not really. The U.S.A right now is in a huge debt. The rich just gets richer and the poor gets poorer. Takahiro Sakurai = <3 |

Well I'll be damned... My first novel, Kardia has been published! Click here to read! Every time you recommend Sword Art Online, a baby seal gets clubbed. |
