Anyone who's seen Index-tan 1 or 2 should be able to tell from the screenshot that the entire parody will last 2-4 SECONDS.

Seems like a big reaction for something so small ;)

The horror

Index should never have exposure to someone as epic as Ika Musume.

Have to agree. Especially since it comes across as a very affectionate parody; it's not like they're intentionally insulting the Ika Musume staff.
If any of my posts seem odd, it's probably because I'm tired. Sorry. I have sleeping issues.

Of course they'd be hurt, who would want to be associated with J.C. Staff's Toaru Majutsu no Index II?

It'd be like Twilight parodying Dracula. Despite any good intentions, some things just shouldn't happen.

While I agree wholeheartedly with this statement, this is still pretty ridiculous.

With Japan's lax copyright laws (i.e. doujinshi), I can't imagine their laws regarding parody and satire being stricter than the U.S.'s. It looks to me that someone's ego needs to be put in check.

What's with all these anime producers/directors being drama queens lately?

Japan hardly has lax copyright laws, doujinshi just makes it past the law due to its overall effect on the manga market (i.e. bringing in new manga-kas and artists into the business).

If a manga-ka finds a doujinshi manga that he does not like that uses his own intellectual content, he can still sue the doujinshi artists under breach of copyright law and easily win.
If you take anime seriously, you're autistic.
