Something hit me when I saw the episode play out, intentional or not, that I think makes it for me. Luffy says "I'll save you even if it means death" at one point, and it seems like it *did* mean death, but he also succeeded in saving him from the question "should I have ever been born". The Whitebeard Pirates and Luffy showed Ace his life was worth living, and although it also meant his death, he was "saved", leaving him happy at his end.  |

This has got to be the best and saddest episode ever. 5/5, no doubt. R.I.P to my favorite One Piece character, the ultimate badass Fire Fist Ace. ;___; ♥ |

Oh god, one of the saddest episodes!! Along with the Going Merry farewell and especially the episode when the mugiwara crew got separated at sabaody.... :( T-T To see luffy in that state is heart breaking to me! It didn't look to me like he's laughing but like how he's loosing his mind literally. Maybe I didn't have this laughing-impression since i read that chapter... I was crying my ass off, even more reading the manga though tbh. R.I.P. Ace. But now we know why Ace reacted the way he did (instead of ignoring the insults) - because of his past. Sigh...I have to say: Oda is really a genious cause I don't cry easily and to think that a shounen manga/anime makes me feel like this and makes me cry so hard...Oda-sama is awesome! Best manga/anime of all time to me!  |

Sad episode. But cant top Merrys funeral. That one had me going like a little sissy girl. Still sad. Think i shed a tear reading the manga, though.  |

The silence was the best bit in the episode i think . Get when he fell of luffy's shoulder and went splat kind of mujcked it up . Still very sad . kung fu action jesus he is fighting the bad guys and saving the day with his magic kung fu he will make em pay its kung fu action jesus. |
