Great episode as always... wait Orochi, it just started, right. Loved Victorika's Yeah, i know it's wrong, but it's sounds like that to me. Their fault for saying "ka" at the end of her name. laugh, story's development is to my liking and... overally it was great what to say.

Now let's just wait for the "surprising" revelation that the one who is doing this is a survivor from the original Queen Berry. Unless my prediction here is wrong, I seriously think this show needs a less predictable plot.

Is that really a prediction? I thought it was made pretty clear...

With a loli and a weak male lead, I couldn't take this anime seriously. The predictable plot/mystery isn't helping either.

I hate cliffhangers.
Kujo cannot die though he is one of the main character per se.

They eliminated half of the people on board, greatly reducing the number of possible suspects.

Hmmm... maybe they just want start the story with something simple.

I also think the woman is also the culprit. I can sense her being concerned about the kids.

I had wondered why the directing for this series was so awful, but then I saw it was done by the same guy who directed Heroman. When you combine that with the terrible writing (particularly when it comes to the characters whose motivations are bad even by anime standards) you have the biggest bust of the season.

Main characters decide randomly on taking that invitation, don't tell anyone (I guess?). They're let in despite the invitation was written for one person only. Nobody at the dinner says anything about 1) their behavior, 2) their age. Then there's one person extra but nobody else says anything.
Victorique's revelations were obvious. Maybe the mystery will buff up in next episodes... I hope at least the mystery will not disappoint...

I assume Victorique took the invitation because she thought/knew there was more to the mystery. As for why they were let in, I think it was likely because they were what people considered to be the "hares," which is why no one said anything. And I can only guess that no one else noticed the extra person; after all, they were all too busy freaking out over being drugged and realizing they were actually the hares. But yeah, I can see where you're coming from. And the mysteries definitely were obvious.

I don't know for sure, but I think this show might be about a series of mysteries and not just this one about Roxanne, the maid, the ghost ship, etc. Likely it will go into another arc after this one is done.

I don't understand all the dislike of Kujo. Sure, he's a bit generic, but I think that makes him a good straight man for Victorique.
As our male protagonist he is kind of pathetic, which is why people dislike him. I don't hate him, but I really do think they could have given us a more interesting lead to go along with Victorique. Then again, if the male lead were better Victorique might not shine as much.

Seriously, if it isn't her than I will be very surprised. The actor may be in on it as well as he also has a lookalike in the flashback. I don't think the mysteries in the show are going to be very difficult. Hell when compared to Umineko, mystery like this is cupcakes.

They both could be in on it, but I think the woman is just playing along. Notice how she looks protective of everybody. It's like she's warning them.

I think the real culprit is the actor. The woman is probably out for revenge. Maybe he was the true killer from the past and she holds a personal grudge against him.

But as far as i'm concerned, this is becoming quite interesting. The mysteries might not be as difficult, but i'm looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.

haters gonna hate, nitpicking

and yeah, the mystery "ain't that great", but it's "BELIEVABLE" and can be done in real life, unlike those ambitious mysteries and detective crimes were seeing that only our omnipotent intelligent protagonist can solve and with tricks that can be done by even a "normal person"?? whose motive is like because he hate the person because his going to leave her and cancel their marriage. geez

That laugh was priceless. I wish that the mysteries could be a little more difficult, but aside that I don't have any complaining. Like the others said I will be surprised if the woman isn't the culprit. Talk about cliffhanger. I think either the culprit or the old man will save Kujo.

Douchebag actor.
Old hag thats overreacting on everything.
A really shady girl that's likely to be the culprit because of the resemblance of the story from old hag.

A guy that's now mimicking touma from toaru that goes "ILL PROTECT YOUUU!".
A loli detective that doesnt seem to have any emotion.

Interesting..

Wrong. Julie can't be the maid because as what the inspector said, the maid can only speak Arabic language.

Also, there's something odd.
In the 1st episode, Madame Roxane requested to send 11 'hares' to the box (At the proloque). So consider that she didn't get killed and went to the ship instead of Kujo and Victorique. There will be 10 people in the ship. So how she knows that there will be 11 of them?

Though I get the tricks used by the culprit (where Victorique), I don't get the background... for example, in the first episode what was the maid's motive of killing Roxane?? 10 years ago, why was the children invited to Queen Berry? etc etc...

Maybe I missed something while I was watching but yeah...

The maid, and Julie are survivors. Roxanne was one of the adults, and the maid wanted revenge. The purpose was probably some sick game for the adults.

I'm liking Kujo a lot. He's kind, honorable, dependable, and quite skilled. And I see him wearing iron knuckles in the preview. Victorica is adorable.

Having read the light novel all I can say is, some of the people who think this is too easy and they've got it all figured out are in for a few twists in the next episode.

Overal the novel has better pacing and I have the feeling the anime gives away too many clues, but that could just be because I know what'll happen.

Also Kujo seems slightly whimpier and whinier than in the novels, though I like the fact that they're already showing a change towards him "manning up".

Her Epic laughs are epic. Shes epic.. but her 'relative' seems to be a controlling douche.

I see more drama and obviously mystery and suspense/creepy factors on the way in the next arcs. And obviously the relationship of the two from strangers to probably the most trusted people for each other. But thats par the course for this style of double protagonists start out as strangers possibly disliking each other and then grow to trust back up and cherish each other lol . (ill have the first two novels soon enough dsepite the epic slow shipping I ordered them before the Anime releases and not here yet haha)

Also I liked seeing the full end its very well done, I just hope its remaining as loyal to the Source Material as possible- Also was it just me or does Kujou have Brace Knuckles

I'm also definitely getting some 999 vibes, especially when I saw the elevator and design of the inner ship as a whole.

At this point, I feel like Julie is pretty much the culprit, if not because she was in the flashback, but rather, all the signs just seem to point to her. It all connects the whole plot as well, since the maid was seen in the flashback as well, leading her to kill Roxane.

For the ending, I'm feeling as though yeah, someone shot Maurice back before he could shoot, likely Julie.

I LOL'd at Victorique's LOL.

That being said, this episode was a definite improvement over the last episode with the mystery and tension being scaled up by a lot. However, yeah, it is predictable and I have a pretty good guess at who the "mastermind" is behind all of it. If I'm wrong, I'll be very surprised (and interested to see their explanation).

I am glad I waited for the 720p version of this because quality in regards to details is more important to me in this series since it concerns mysteries. I have finally solved at who is the culprit. It is none other than the Arabian maid with Juile and three other people. Henchmen so to speak because of the 12 people, 1 was killed by a arrow, 3 died in the boat and five were left including Juile/Vitorique/Kujo/Maurice as well as Ned. Where the other 3 that are part of the 12? If you look closely at the Arabian maid, next to her looks like a girl to looks like Juille and another shot porves it further. Now look at how
Juile looks grown up. See a resemblance? Another interesting thing,
notice the painting behind the small model ship of the Queen Berry, it shows a crew after a ship sinks. All this leads to the culprit being that maid. I think her motive is revenge for getting her involved in the game where she played to survive. I think this all over 8mm movie with Nicholas Cage, where in the movie the culprits wanted to do a snuff movie out of a 16 year old, personally that's why I think the culprits had money and bough off kids from all over the world just to see them kill each other. It could have been a experiment to see which nation would survive best or in the end just something that the fortune teller predicted and the rich went with it.

Apart from that I found Victorique being absolutely cute with her expression and serious look in the spoiler
This episode also showed great feelings from Victorique that she is scarred after all and is not cold stone. Although her laugh was kind of ok but strange, it was regardless humorous. I also liked how Victorique found out about the wine and that the room was repainted. I never would have to think that Kujois really the son of a Imperial Soldier. Regardless his save of Victorique was great and I loved it! Looks like Maurice in the end lost it by pointing a gun towards everyone. I think the reason for his behavior is that he paranoid and panic ensued. I also think that Maurice had something to do with the setup of that game the kids played to kill each other.

Next episode can't wait for Kujo finding brass knuckles and using them. This will be nice and is most likely a weapon that was hidden around that he found. Ned from what it looks like him beating up Maurice or Kujo although I doubt it is Kujo but that gun shot at the end will most likely miss since Kujo is still alive in the preview. Excellent episode as it immersed me into it gloomy environment and its mysteries.

I thought it was meant to be an interesting and serious seinen, but the second episode sees it becoming a shounen with all the typical cliches and retarded melodrama. also the pacing was ridiculous. this reminds me of what rainbow was like. hopefully this episode is just a speed bump
