| Surprisingly, i liked the first episode! even tho its not my fav. genre or characters.. i find it very interesting specially Homura.. i don't like Kyubie.. i noticed how he never answered "how do you know our name?" question! 4/5 |

However, this show got a solid 10/10 from me. If you ever come back and try again, please watch at least the first 3 episodes. Otherwise you just can't rate this show (well, my opinion). |
| (3rd time watching) Homura's expressions while walking with Madoka to see the nurse... then the girls' conversation at the restaurant... It's little things like these that make this anime so amazing... especially knowing where everything is going. |

| Into Madoka Magica. As a first episode it was really good, that opening was nice, so I suppose we have returned back in time, it's like a second chance to avoid some disaster explained in the first 2 minutes. So I guess Homura wants to avoid that cat, rabbit or whatever from asking Madoka to become a magical girl, maybe. That portal thing was so weird, the artstyle was effectively strange! The artwork is really approximated but it works in some ways, while the backgrounds are good I guess, but man those colors! way too bright! The characters is too early to make a statement. So far so good! 4/5 |
| Quick cultural query. Madoka and her mother are shown brushing their teeth before eating breakfast: is that normal in Japan? (The only person I ever met who advocated it was my old German teacher.) I'm pretty sure that in Cardcaptor Sakura - a series that's referenced more than once in this episode (not least when Homura gives Madoka the same transfer-student-stare that Syaoran Li gave Sakura) - Sakura was always dashing out of the house with her mouth full too. But I worry about the dental hygiene of these magical girls! |

| Guessing Homura must be from the future or the events that are happening in this are repeating kinda like in Hakomari. Homura seems to bear quite a grudge against Madoka for some reason.Though I think she's trying to prevent Madoka from making contact with Kyuubey preventing her from becoming a magical girl Edit: Only thing that somewhat bothered me this episode was the ary/character designs,at times Madoka & etc's head looked big and bloated. |
| Character's faces looks pretty flat,otherwise the environment and designs are refreshing to watch out of the stereotypical high school,character interaction turns out to be much more realistic than i thought,The studio just goes all out crazy on the scenes,love their boldness. OST is amazing as well! |

| Well I went into the show with low expectations (just was expecting a really good show) and I am glad the first episode was really good. The music sounds really good (though I feel like the opening is misleading...) I will keep on watching the show until it ends. |
| Madoka is so cute! I really enjoyed the music and the artwork, though that one scene was kind of weird and trippy lol. I didn't expect Homura to be so mean or whatever! What's up with her?? Oh and I loved Madoka's mom hehe. Can't wait to see some more magic! ✿ 4/5 |

| Foreshadowing. Lots of foreshadowing. I don't why I didn't like this when I first watched 1 year ago, but I am hooked this time. The OST when Mami was fighting, glorious! Great episode. |

The artstyle is quite unique, even if it's not my cup of tea. Animation seems fluid. Sayaka is a cool char. She's sometimes a bit mean with Madoka but she's not acting like a cliche tsundere. I love how she always puts her body between Madoka and danger, it doesn't feel forced or exagerated. Not a huge fan of the muskets. I mean, what's the point of summoning endless muskets ? Wouldn't it be more practical to just summon one musket then powder and bullets ^_- ? |
