Battle 2, it's pretty much a war. This is pretty much the only time anyone will side with big business because of the worldwide impact.

Good, that's how you get things done! You just keep declining and refusing until something happens, and eventually it'll work because the government or whoever runs it will be losing money =]

Except stuff like this is only going to save them money in the long run.

Just. FYI.

Unfortunately, that'd only make things worse...personally I just want him out of politics - the dude has no business making decisions that effect other people, as he has (in more ways then just this) made clear in the past.

If anything he needs to just die suddenly in his sleep, from a painful disease, or die from a small government coup. Some disease or non-otaku must put him down for good.

Because killing someone who disagrees with you is the best way to solve a problem.

Way to fit into his reasoning of why regulations should be in place....-laughs-

I get you are having fun with it. But he is still just a man doing what he thinks is right. Saying burn down his house, even jokingly is childish and really only gives power to the other side.

To be fair, Ishihara's...many things. A hypocrite, a racist, and did you know there's a clause in the new law that actually says he can publicly defame mangaka who break it? He can, himself.
Source
"...the Governor (of Tokyo) can publicly identify the offender and comment on the reasons for declaring their work in breach."
In the past he described mangaka as being "sub-human" and otaku as having "corrupted DNA," and then he makes laws that allow him to legally and publicly declare those of this minority of being or doing more or less whatever he wishes to say, given the ambiguous wording of the law.

For example, he would've attacked Tsuzuki Masaki for writing Nanoha because it has scenes with Nanoha half naked and claim it encourages pedophilia. Of course, this argument, or another just like it, will probably be said with almost every Magical Girl anime made (think "transformation scene.") This part is especially scary if the bill effects anime retroactively.

So the guy's really asking for all this hate from Otaku, and at the same time he's getting really popular with conservative Japan by doing this (being an Otaku is a taboo in conservative Japan, so his persecution of the culture gets him brownie points with the voting majority.) All told, he might just be doing this to increase his political power, rather then because he thinks he's doing the right thing.

I could say alot more about this, but I think I've said enough for now - this is a forum post, not a blog entry. ^^;
