In the 20th track of the original sound track CD (14:27~), Panty implied the second season of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. However, Stocking denied it saying"no, no, it hasn't been fixed yet!" at the end of the track and added "but practically speaking, it may be up to the director Imaishi?" Panty & Stocking OST Track 20 (niconico) Panty: Hey Stocking! I heard our anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt has got the green light for a sequel thanks to the big hit! Stocking: What? Who the hell did decide that? Panty: Speaking of a sequel .... (Blah-blah-blah) How about a trilogy? (Blah-blah-blah) let's go into the one hundredth season!! Hollywood remake is not a dream! Stocking: Hey wait, Panty! Panty: This planet is too small for us! Panty in the Space! (Blah-blah-blah) Stocking: Shit! Panty: So when will it start? Stocking: How should I know, shitty bitch! Panty: The next episode, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Season two! Stocking: Hey hey hey, wait! I told you it hasn't been decided yet! But, practically speaking, it could be up to the director Imanishi? The second season was implied at the end of the final episode. I'm no fan of the series, but I would like to see them try their luck against Ishihara's bill with another TV series featuring the nopan slut known as Panty. Having said, that I, believe that Mahoromatic and Shikabane Hime are the only Gainax series to ever get a TV sequel, and both of those were co-produced with another studio (feel for Shikabane Hime, shaft for Mahoromatic), so an OVA follow-up is more likely, I suppose. |

If the decision relies on Imaishi (which I really doubt) we'll probably get a second season. only complain i have with panty and stocking anime is that they mix real life footage onto 2D ye its symbolic that 3D is greater existence than 2D but its bad looking to blend them hope the second season will be pure 2D only |

I'm pretty sure there will be a season 2. You really can't just end a series outright saying you'll make more and then not do so. The only way a studio would ever do that is if they wanted to but then later found out there was no way they could make it. So unless Gainax falls into financial trouble, then we can assume we'll get a season 2. Also, why on earth are some people in this thread hoping it doesn't get a season 2? You have to be elitist, entitled child to think a series shouldn't go on further because you personally don't enjoy it. |
