Well, I watched Bungaku Shoujo movie about a month ago and today I watched the first OVA. I don't think it matters much which one you choose to watch first.

When you watch OVA first you just follow the further story in the movie, if you watch the movie first then watching the OVAs would feel more like discovering what happened before, more like watching specials. I guess I prefer that order.

If you just wanna watch it then I'd say OVAs → movie, if you wanna "taste" the story that would movie → OVAs.

Ah, take into account that there are 3 OVAs and the 3rd one isn't subbed yet.

I wished I watched the OVAs first, I believe if I did, I would love the movie even more :)

Since the movie and OVA contains so much spoilers of the later volumes of the light novel without properly going through the whole story, the best way is to start from the light novel series. Well, the problem is you have to learn to read Japanese or wait for the release of English translated versions from Yen Press, which seems to take forever.

If you don't plan on reading the light novels, then I would suggest watching the OVAs and then the movie.

so this OVA is really prequel (says what happened before movie not) not preview or alternative retelling ? Its not that i get spoilered by this in relation to movie, right ?
BTW: Do I miss any worthwhile anime-romance from guy's point of view in MAL? Let me know without hesitation :)

Loved the movie even before watching the OVA.
The OVA would seem like the answers that closes all the loose ends of the stories.
