Princess Mononoke. Rented it on VHS from my local video store when I was still pretty new to anime, it was one of the few titles they had that wasn't "Adults Only" in the anime section, and was a pretty new release at the time.

I believe it was Spirited Away. I watched it in the cinema yearsago. I really liked the story, and so my parents bought the VHS and I kept watching it over and over again. I have it on my computer now that the VHS player is broken, and I still keep watching it ^^

Spirited Away. It was always on television when I had somewhere to go so that I never could see the whole movie
That's pretty much what happened to me. I immediately fell in love with the overall atmosphere of the movie, and decided to buy Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle and Cat Returns. Even though I didn't know how the Spirited Away begun or ended or wasn't sure if I was going to like the other movies. And then I proceed to buy all of Ghibli's movies on DVD. I'm now waiting for Ponyo to be released on dvd here.

So I'm not sure what to answer. Spirited Away was the first one I saw parts of, but My Neighbour Totoro was the first one I watched from beginning to end.

The first one I ever watched was Kiki's Delivery Service. Of course, that was so long ago, I can only rember bits and peices of it, so I guess the first one I watched and can rember was Spirited Away.

My first Ghibli's movie was "Howl's moving castle". I like it but the end was a little...hmm...ingenuous? Second - "Spirited away" and it was amazing, magic and most beautiful fairy tale that I have ever seen.
