I don't really mind for the private messages, since I don't really private message anyone at all. As for clubs, I'm not sure. I haven't really been active in them so I wouldn't mind if they weren't working. ![]() |

I really don't mind if private msgs and clubs are disabled as long as the site runs smoothly again. The original purpose of this site was to keep track of anime and manga I'm sure. |

To be fair, I could live without both the Private Messages and the Clubs. I'm sure we all agree that the PMs aren't really necessary, and nobody would really cry over them if they went. But I understand that quite a lot of people come on here quite simply for the clubs, and it would be quite a bad choice to get rid of them. But if there was a way to make it more manageable, like removing all the duplicate clubs and the ones that are hardly ever active, then I guess that would be fine. But personally, I'll be happy just as long as the lag issues are resolved. |

Most definitely. I don't care about clubs or private messages; I just want my stats to stop being delayed and for my list to stay properly updated. |

I can miss the private messages but I like the clubs to much to miss them D= 祇園精舎の鐘の声、諸行無常の響きあり。娑羅双樹の花の色、盛者必衰の理をあらわす。 おごれる人も久しからず、唯春の夜の夢のごとし。たけき者も遂にはほろびぬ、偏に風の前の塵に同じ。 The sound of the Gion Shōja bells echoes the impermanence of all things; the color of the sāla flowers reveals the truth that the prosperous must decline. The proud do not endure, they are like a dream on a spring night; the mighty fall at last, they are as dust before the wind. |

I don't mind disabling the private messages. I'm betting most people don't use the system anyways. But I spent quite a lot of time in clubs here. I personally say keep them. |

Get rid of Private Messages, MAL can deal without them. (I never used them in the first place) Keep the clubs though! It's fun to talk about the things you love and meet new friends in them! :D ![]() |

Yeah, I could survive without PMs. As for clubs...dunno. Sorry for grammar mistakes(if any), english is not my native language. Feel free to correct me if you see some. |

I don't care about the private messages, but a lot of clubs need the massmessages to run, so I'd like to have those back... .__. ![]() |

I wrote one reply already, but the server ate it. In it, I said yes to PMs and expressed concern over disabling clubs, mostly because we all know what "temporary" means around here. But you know what, I can't do anything. My forum messages disappear, I can't add things to my list, I can't approve/mod things, nothing. So sure, disable the clubs and PMs. If temporary turns out to be not so temporary, be upfront and honest about it then. |

I use MAL mainly to keep track of my anime watching. So it's OK to turn off the extra features that bog the site down. |

Disabling both are fine with me. Having to refresh this page for 5 minutes, seeing different amounts of posts every time, before my post showed up is just ridiculous. Modified by windy, 12-20-10, 2:03 PM |

I'm fine with no PMs and clubs to fix the lag. Hopefully it's not permanent though, some clubs are rather nice... |

Well the sites is called myanimelist, not myanimeclub. I think getting the list to work properly is top priority. But I admit I´d be a bit sad should they be gone. And I don´t care about private messages. Never sent one, never will. "I am the Lizard King. I can do anything." |

I wouldn't care if the PM system was taken out altogether, though I'm rather fond of the clubs. (even if I'm only in 3 of em =P) Though, if they only need to be frozen for a short time while you upgrade the systems or whatever, I'd say that'd be fine too...maybe if you want to cut out some inactive clubs, you could give the club mods\creator the chance to mark their club as "active" and delete those that don't respond? (on second thought, that might take more effort then it'd be worth) Anyway, there's my two cents, take em for what they're worth. |

I don't mind if it's just temporary. I mean the whole point of MAL are the lists....I'm getting really annoyed every time I remember MAL isn't as fast as it used to be. So disable them until you've fixed this. |

I've never used the private messages and rarely use my clubs, so I think it can go. Either way, the lag itself isn't bothering me too much. |

I rarely send or recieve PMs and I don't visit any clubs so I'm fine with both being disabled. ![]() |

I don't care about the PM's. Never liked them in the first place. So I can deal without it. As for the clubs, I wouldn't mind terribly if they were disabled, granted I do frequent them a lot. But as some have said the issue with them being disabled is the time frame of how long they'd be gone. But if it helps with the lag do what you think is right. |
