What's with these people always grabbing the knife. I'm aware that they are stopping their movement, but it's ridiculous how often they use that (and the hand heals right afterwards.

So what will happen when JoJo/Dio puts that mask on? Will he become... The Mask?

Jojo is really badass nowadays. I want to see what is this mask about! This manga looks cliche nowadays, but I think it was amazing back then!

The proportion of the body of Jojo looks worse each time. I hope he can save his own father.

Leaving the Stone Mask and the research notes in his room free for Dio to break into just like how he did it with the pocket watch was a rather costly mistake that will greatly impact future events.

Seeing Jonathan bravely enter Ogre Street and grab that knife with his bare hands without hesitation just to threaten the other ruffians was awesome.

That was incredible. The snowy charcoal streets of London looked pretty and it was so awesome to see how far Jonathan has come, his relationship with his father, and just some raw GAR action of the kind I haven’t seen for awhile.

So, Jonathan has intellectually grown a lot, he's studied and he's shown how clever he is in my opinion twice now. When he made Dio reveal the truth about the poison by making him swear on the honour of his father, and here, how he deducted in his head where the poison must have been from after not being able to analyze it. All while setting up his father to only take medicine from doctors he brought it. Very quickly he's covered many bases. To counter this Dio is setting up a way to “accidentally” kill Jonathan with his own research on the stone mask, something I honestly expected him to do long ago just in a way not involving the mask, but I feel he enjoyed his time feeling above Jonathan and now he's being forced to act.

Beyond that, I really love how they set up Jonathan as ever since he was young he had a sense of pride, respect, and determination. He had a code to always fight even at a disadvantage. He was naive but over time he did become quite the strong and reliable youth. Through showing how many times he lost, taking out his handkerchief or fighting battles he couldn't win, and by showing how he gradually grew stronger and able to keep up with Dio as he aged, it makes it so his undying shounen personality is justified or earned. He showed this chapter just how cool and brave he is, traversing into the beautiful but deadly Ogre street, the dangerous cursed street of London, seeing cats eat dogs and monsters on the walls, only to be ambushed by three bandits probably out for his goods. As he comically stated he was willing to lose his hand, he put it on the line immediately, clenching a knife and threatening to kick his foe if that knife is twisted. It was as if it was to answer my realistic first thought of, “well in real life his fingers would get cut off” and make it even cooler because of that. Then as the kung fu bandit dove in, he takes them both out, in the opening of kung fu bandit and in the hesitation of the knife bandit.

Talk about freaking cool, I also want to briefly mention that Jonathan's relationship with his father feels real to me, in the possible regret his father feels over being so harsh on him when he was younger, the way he would talk about Jonathan and Danny to Dio, then in this chapter as he told Jonathan that he trusts him even if he doesn't understand the reasons, and all the way in Jonathan pride of his blood and his will to fight to the death to protect his father. They're all little things but together they do make this relationship feel real.
