I'd say Gantz was the first truly dark anime I watched. I don't consider most of the above answers quite 'dark' enough. And some people simply posted the first anime they watched, disregarding the dark aspect entirely...why? |

Higurashi. Pretty touching. Especially when you look through (WE MUST GO DEPEER!) gore scenes. Although without making people belive in some weird deepness on purpose like fanboyz do. I would say that Onikakushi was the most hmm... horror-like? But still, Watanagashi and Maekashi are those chapters which I'll never forget. |
