| Minmay’s speech was extremely conceited. She basically stood up and said that she doesn’t really understand what is actually happening but because she is the most famous person in Macross City, she doesn’t mind being forced to stay there. I doubt she really cares what other people think as long as they love her. |

| Hikaru writing letter to Kakizaki's family... Another beautiful sunset. Aliens do not want to go back, I wonder why :D Loved how Global and Misa drank without clinking glasses. They think not of surviving this, obviously. What an unfortunate ship. But no one thinks of bailing it for some reason, if it's the SHIP aliens after. And if not, then all the PLANET is in danger (I believe it was attacked while Macross was away even), so guys at HQ are being irrational. Not even providing support when Macross was attacked on surface. Negotiating after Macross destruction is like starting talks after handing out a last nuclear bomb to an enemy who has thousand (not mentioning their disinterest in alien culture) Seeing alien armada un-folding behind the Moon and with no support from U.N., I'd call it quits and order abandon ship. At least the crew would be saved miserable and meaningless deaths even if they decided on a martial for a captain afterwards (but chances are there would be no U.N. government after that) Come on, Global is italian(?) they know how to retreat and bail out with style! :D We would not have third season then, however :) Finaly telling the news to civilians. Minmay being optimistic about it as always. Kaifun holding Global's shoulder - interesting. | It was nice seeing the 3 spies share their love of protoculture. Didn't expect Kaifun to comfort Global with all his hate of the military. Global's speech was really emotional, i'm sure the citizens could tell he did everything he could. Up next: More Misa X Hikaru scenes? |

| It's nice to see Minmei leave the naive little girl attitude for once. Too bad it happens only after Hikaru realized the gap in characters between them. The three zentradis seem like incredibly competent stealers. XD The scenes are made a bit dumb because of the scale who xcan't never stay the same (mini/invisible food is okay but Minmei dolls as tall as coolers/freezers is insane). 4/5 |

| I wonder if Misa schooled that hippie on the kind of situation they're in. That might explain the change in his attitude. And yeah, the scaling was pretty weird and inconsistent in this episode. That Minmay doll those 3 stooges brought back with them looked huge. As big as the grand piano and the refrigerator, when it should be the size of ants to them. |
| First his senpai, now his subordinate. Things are really tough for Hikaru. Anyone ship the spies with the Macross operators? lol Zentradi becoming contaminated with the human culture... Really heartwarming that Minmay helped Global's explanation to the civilians and Kaifun gave him a pat on the back. My Beautiful Place is an underrated track from this series. |

| I expected the battle pod which Misa and the others used to return to Macross to be in a safer place, but it ended up being used by the spies. And actually I wanted them to settle down on Macross and never finish their mission :p Captain Global's speech was quite touching, I teared up a bit. |

| The show is growing. Hikaru writing to the parents of his deceased subordinate - what a scene! And Minmay realising the importance of her own role in these hard times. The show feels so contemporary with its focus on migration and world politics. |

It's an average of 0.000628 light years between the two planets, so even with a much slower than light speed spaceship it doesn't take a lifetime or anything. For comparison, the New Horizons probe launched in 2006 took 9.5 years to go from Earth to Pluto, so a repaired alien ship going at 10 times that speed in sci-fi is easily believable to me. At the time I was under the impression that all their ships are just advanced earth mechs then again even if it isn't that realistic, it's fiction..so yeah |
