According to the tweet by anime director Kamiya Jun, anime director Iida Umanosuke passed away after a long struggle against an illness. He was 49 years old.

He did storyboarding for Bebop, which is all I've seen of his, but I'd planned to see other things on that list for a while now, damn.

He did some fantastic storyboard work, that's for sure. He was a good director, too. Only thing that drug some of his projects like Hellsing down was simply sloppy writing. R.I.P.

Aw man....was so young too. Only 49, thats as old as my mom! I sympathise with his family and work mates. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
