I went through the "Most Popular" anime list, skipping ahead a few hundred at a time with the URL. The very last entry on the list was "Big X", with exactly ONE person having completed it, one watching, one dropped, and four planning to watch. Congrats, Big X. You are the least watched anime in MAL history.

impossible to find and not fansubbed...osamu tezuka's production company has made it nearly impossible to view/read a lot of his classic works, especially here in america - a real tragedy of epic proportions (tezuka being the man who first popularized manga/anime on a worldwide scale)!

Man we really need this and all of Tezuka's works to be subtitled... Problem is even if we were to find raws for Big X it would probably take ages for someone to pick it up and subtitle it completely. I mean look at Astro Boy, one of the most influential anime in existence and it still have no subtitles despite the raws being quite available.

if there was literally even a clip of this show existing anywhere on the internet or even on dvd that someone could buy from literally anywhere then there would be a sub by now, aka theres no trace of this show anywhere, it pretty much is non existent

You can buy it here.

On Atom: good encode just got done. I think this guy was confusing the original series with 1980/2003 or something, I couldn't find it either except for a few random episodes and raws of the English dub (not only is it well, English dubbed, but it is missing quite a lot of episodes). Anyway that's done.

On Big X: will be encoded, BUT the box set is missing episodes 2 to 39 (why them??? who the fuck knows). Apparently they lost all means to restore them, or maybe they didn't feel like going through the trouble of doing it, because I know they lost footage of a few Atom episodes, and for them they took storyboards and still frames and 'animated' them a little bit (fortunately they didn't lose the audio). Maybe they will re-release a new set that is more complete later, but since this was released in 2006 (not that long ago for old series remasters) and the footage just may be lost forever and ever, I don't think you should expect to ever see Big X in its entirety, as sad as it is.

Zero-sen Hayato is another series that's just not available for now, but it has never seen a DVD re-release, so we don't know what's keeping it from happening. Tetsujin JUST got a re-release so I guess it's not impossible.

I would love to see this, if at all possible. The 60s have some great gems, and this looks to be one of the first series' with a little more serious plot line (Serious as in, involving Hitler. lol).

I watched a short from 1929 recently. Why is this so hard to find? Ugh.

Vengeance of everyone's grudge.

The Skaro Hunting Society just released the first episode.

A bit of info for those who are interested:

"Like the 1960s episodes of Doctor Who, there are a lot of Big X episodes that are currently missing. For a long time the first 39 episodes were thought to be lost forever, and the Japanese VHS and laserdisc releases of the 1990s only included episodes 40-59. But just as missing Doctor Who episodes continue to be found, a 16mm print of Big X episode 1 turned up (oddly enough, in the hands of an American film collector), and more recently episode 11 was found as well. And now, you can finally enjoy the Big X origin story complete with English subtitles."

How can there be 68 completed? 99% of the episodes are missing forever.

only 63% of the series is missing but anyway, people will do anything to get that +1 completed anime. this includes:
-directly lying about completing the series while not watching a single thing
-watching the only 22 episodes that survived and still marking it complete
-watching the 22 episodes twice and then another 15 episodes to make up 59 episodes
-actually seeing it on tv

this list is categorized from most probable to least probable
as of now, 101 people have said they have completed it
