P.A. Works To Produce a Local Government-funded Anime

According to Yomiuri news, Toyama prefectural government announced an original anime "Mai no Mahou to Katei no Hi" (Mai's Magic and Family Day) produced by P.A. Works. The 30min long anime will be aired on TV next Feburary and be streamed on Youtube later.

The main studio of P.A. Works is locate in Toyama and they have produced PR anime for Toyama "Nakaseru Sora ni Aitai" last year as a part of Japanese Ministry of Economy's project.

P.A. Works has been actively cooperating with Toyama and neighboring prefecture Ishikawa since True Tears brought many anime fans to the model town in Ishikawa. Ishikawa Tourism Association is counting on P.A.'s new anime Hanasaku Iroha because it's also related to Ishikawa's hot spring cities.

looks like something kids under 12 and their parents may enjoy together by the look of the illustrations....will probably check it out when it streams on youtube

I wonder what magic has to do with it, will it prevent domestic violence and creepy people from talking to kids or something along those lines? If so, I'm sure it will be hilarious.

Let's hope b/c a few weeks ago, I saw my local Best Buy's anime DVD stack decreasing rapidly. =(
