THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well now the action starts.

I'm pretty surprised they left out so much from the manga. They haven't once talked about the company that made the VR system. I hope they don't toss it all in one episode later on. That would be pretty stupid. I'm still guessing the ending's going to be original.

Good episode as always. What I particularly like in this series is the depth of the characters and the originality of the script, and those thwo things were pretty well done in this episode I think.

well seeing as how this show is 13 epp long i can see how they wouldnt add any extraneous stuff like the company that made the vr. maybe second season, since i dont think they can resolve everything just like this. who knows.

ya that would suck if this was one season and they made the ending half assed.

Still lost in dullsville. Eh, since its a short series I should probably just finish it, although I doubt it's going to go anywhere other than the mediocre, cliched places its been going so far.

And that messenger guy's face really, really bugs me.

This series is like mom's spagetti: eaten a lot of times, nothing original about it but it still tastes yummy.
ps. also gets a plus for wonderful character design.

It's an entertaining series, but at times I get confused with what is actually happening. This was a good episode, but there wasn't really any action, hopefully the next episode will have more.

In a nutshell The main character gets stuck in the past because of a VR machine developed by a company with a mysterious creator. Once Toki learns that hes stuck in the past and about "heavens net", he understands that everyone has a predetermined destiny (ie. they're woven into the Heavens net). Princess explains how since hes not from this time period his destiny is not yet determined making him a blank page and giving him the power to alter other peoples destiny's. Unlike his friend who chose to stay in the past, Toki doesn't know what he wants to do, per say. This episode he kind of blurts out that he wants to go home but at the same time help people in this time period. Once he choses a side or someone else from the future gets sucked in, he will then be woven into heavens net for that time period like his friend making it almost impossible for him to return to his time period. This is why Boten is trying to get him to choose one side or the other.

In Toki's real time period a group of people are trying to find out more information about the company and the creator that made the VR machine. However the more they try and find out about it, the more questions appear and their lives become in dangered by company assassins.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion. It's probably best to read the manga before watching the Anime since the beginning is pretty slow. It picks up though.

I liked this episode. Amatsuki's strong point is its dialogue and characters. If the viewer wants action, and a faster pace of story, then it's going to be dull for them. Which half of you are thinking.

I find its dialogue and characters to be too dull and cliche to label them as a strong point. I still wouldn't like it with this quality of writing no matter what kind of action they stick in.

Well you don't have to hurry, the manga is still publishing and it is very behind in the scanlation department. In episode 7 the scanlations are at the anime. I should have checked the scanlation status before saying that, 5 more chapters had been scanlated so they're probably about even now.

YES TSUYUKUSA AND HEIHACHI INTERACTION. my favorite part. not as good as the manga of course (none of this is) but it's still adorable.

They were quite a few interesting points to this episode. Some things were began making a bit more sense. I'm still not sure who are the bad guys and who are the good guys, but then again, maybe its not as simple as good or bad. I really hope they answer the question of how Kon's been there 2 years longer than Toki before the series ends and it doesn't just get thrown under the rug like it never happened (it annoys me so much when they do that in anime).
