She's the only one that has any kind of real potential. Those other women are so pathetic that they make me want to cry.
Maybe JIji has a chance and lets not forget the mysterious BL mangaka.

Hilarious episode and the brother is funny.
So we will get to see some huge dorama relating the house demolish issue in future episodes.
Moar makeovers please and Banba's hair makes me laugh to tears. What is it made of really?.....thick fiber wool?

This episode totally has me shipping Tsukimi x Kuranosuke now.

They have a certain weird chemistry that I like.

Shu wanted to see Tsukimi because he liked how she looked, but Kuranosuke genuinely likes her and thinks she's interesting.

When Kuranosuke was telling Shu about Tsukimi, he knew what she was really like, and yet still enjoys seeing her.

I think that if Shu had known at first what Tsukimi was really like and what she usually looks like, he wouldn't have wanted anything to do with her.

Both Shu and Tsukimi are rather gaga over each other when they really haven't met. I hate couples like that. That's why I'm hoping that meybe, just maybe, slowly, Kuranosuke and Tsukimi will fall for each other.

They almost remind me of Amu, Ikuto, and Tadase from Shugo Chara. Amu (Tsukimi) was totally heads over heels for Tadase (Shu), but then there was Iktuo (Kuranosuke). Ikuto would just butt into her life and have fun messing with her even though she really didn't want him to. Eventually, after she spends more time around Ikuto, she starts to fall for him.

I hope that this will be something like that. xD Because I really like Kuranosuke and Tsukimi.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES!! I don't want Tsukimi to fall in love with Shu! :( I don't want this to be one of those stories where the dense guy finally realises that real beauty is inside. I want her to fall in love with Kuranosuke, who ALREADY knows how pretty she can be and never judged her by her looks. But, sadly, if she already thinks she's in love with Shu and if we only have 11 episodes... I don't think we'll see that coming. But I really support Kuranosuke x Tsukimi. So this development makes me sad.

Does Shu remind anyone of Kyoya Ootori from "Ouran High School Host Club" or is it just me? The serious face, the respectable family, the respectable job and the goofy brother who resembles Suoh Tamaki's attitudes sometimes. Or maybe it's just me!

I can't wait for the next episode. This anime should be longer than 11 episodes...

Eh, I don't like that she had to ~become beautiful~ with the right makeup and such to justify her usually not being very attractive.
I was hoping this show would be more about self-acceptance as someone who isn't beautiful or amazing by society's standards.

Now that we know she /can/ become 'pretty', her reasoning for not wanting to stay that way ["the other ugly girls will hate me!"] seems weak.

Exactly! IF Tsukimi and Shuu do become the main couple (though I really hope it ends up being Kuranosuke and Tsukimi), then I hope he starts to like her for that personality of hers.

I want the main couple to be Tsukimi and Kuranosuke as well! Although with him liking to crossdress I don't how that will pan out... I have a feeling that Shuu and Tsukimi will come into contact with each other again though

lol. Why shame? He didn't like Tsukimi for her looks. He liked how she looked. Different things. Liking Tsukimi for her looks would entail Shuu meeting her, disliking her personality, then going, oh well! She's so pretty, I can just overlook that. As long as she dresses up, I'll continue liking her.

...So is Tsukimi also 30? Or did she state her age earlier in the show?

lol he just automatically assumed she was gross because she wasn't all made up... i mean he liked her without even knowing her to begin with... he saw a pretty face and was all like "ahh i'm in love" and then when she wasn't so pretty anymore and all shy/awkward he deemed her gross. So shame on him! ^^

This is why I like shows like these: make-overs, make-overs and MAKE-OVERS.

Whether they are purely appearance-wise, or more long-term savvy like changing a person inside ánd outside, I love it all.

EDIT: It actually seems to resemble the House Bunny a bit, except for the crossdresser of course, but it has the same idea. An old, run-down dorm, 'estranged' girls, and then someone comes along and manages to transform them into 'beautiful' girls.Clichéd, but I like it. Movies with make-overs, I need more...

Eight, to be precise, which makes her 32 years old. Tsukimi is the only teenager in the group (18).

I love the Cinderella move they are pulling to an extreme. It really worked out for me, and i think it works since Kyosuke's goal is to be "in the fashion world." Shuu was funny, but after reading ^ i think he might not be the best match for her unless he changes his attitude.

I think at the end of the series everybody is going to learn a lesson about themselves, primarily Tsukimi, Kuranosuke and Shuu.

Sorry I still like Shuu better, he's delusional and all but I am sure the whole point is to show how his perspective changes later...he just has to get a chance to see Tsukimi like Kuranosuke does.

(I don't think he was doing either honestly)

Mikuru beam is done by putting two, not three, fingers, your thumb and index, over your eye and your palm is facing outwards. So it's like if you made an "L" shape with your hand and put it over your eye. Two different poses.

What? Yes, posing is serious business.

I`m already a bit upset, because there is going to be only 11 episodes, though there are 5 volumes of manga which is still ongoing, that means the show will have rather an ambiguous ending or no clear ending, a different ending or a second season (that would be the best, but on the other hand it means looong waiting). Yeah, i`ve got pessimistic nature>.< And 11 ep. is so little ( i still remember Tatami galaxy and Kuchuu Buranko)..
Talking about coupling, i personally don`t imagine Kuranosuke developing any deeper feelings for Tsukimi apart from the friendliness we already see and his interest in make-over. He seems to be one of those an independent artistic people who don`t settle down (at least that easily). And his crossdressing confuses me:/ And development with Shuu seems to be more hilarious (especially official website saying he has no experience with women, on the other hand is kinda obvious from what we see in ep. 3) Well, it`s just my contemplation. I prefer to leave this for the author.
For those saying Shuu liked Tsukimi basing on her looks, i`d like to tell that it`s obviously true, `cause we always get the first impression of people depending on what they look like, there`s no other way, unless we had some specific experience. Anyway, i hope the story goes the more difficult way them all exploring the inner beauty, it`s based on an award winning work after all...
I`ve lookes throuhg Kiss covers and it seems not only Tsukimi has a potential:) (by the most of the covers of the magazine and manga somehow show Tsukimi and Kuranosuke). I`m exhausted by my own predictions>.<
All in all, i really cann`t wait for next week`s episode, whole week ahead, ahhh. This didn`t happen to me in a long time. And the show`s only getting better and better :)

I hope that's the case.
And I'd have nothing against Tsukimi as a character even if she did feel the need to become physically attractive for whatever reason [as long as her personality was more or less the same], it's the show that I'm disappointed in for going down the path of "however, look! She's /capable/ of being beautiful!" rather than taking the road less traveled and just having her be consistently 'ugly'.

I wouldn't say Shu was being a jerk. He's your average type of person who's first thing they'd notice about people is their appearance. As for Kuranosuke, I don't think he was treating his friends as playthings. He said he liked to hang out with Tsukimi and her friends because they're more interesting and not as shallow as his other friends despite having nothing in common. The ending credits is a huge giveaway.

I also loved it when Kuranosuke was dancing with his uncle and providing a bit of service. Hilarious!

I was rather happy about the makeover as it was great to see how Tsukimi could look like. And it's not a surprise that she's beautiful since she's already kinda cute and her mother was very attractive. I'm all for people being themselves, but it seems like Tsukimi determination to maintain her current appearance is due in part to her fear of losing her friends. From the start there's been this whole "us" versus "them" with appearance being a big factor. Cliche or not, I like that Kuranosuke's overwhelming love of fashion and carefree nature will chip away at that wall that they've built up.

Tukimi was far prettier before Kuranosuke defiled her with that boring run-of-the-mill look.

This episode indicates either a trite future course or a not quite as but still sort of trite subversive course, I really hope it somehow opts for neither.
