| So there is more behind Zakuro then she herself thought, which explains why a group is after her. The question still remaining is what is this reason and what does her mother have to do with it. This Anime is getting better with each episode wonder if it can keep this up. |

| *emerging from the shadows* I find Otome Youkai Zakuro quite entertaining(explaining the high score on my list). And I say this after 5 episodes already. The love between Zakuro and the lt. never existed. She was purely infatuated with admiration for him. This episode showed where Zakuro's true base, true pylon is. The action felt a bit rushed. If this is going to be a 12 episode series, it's completely understandable, but still, it fills a bit rushed. All in all, good episode and can't wait for the next one, because things are getting interesting. *going back into the shadows* |

He did want to fight and protect his twins, but he just got held back by them, as they were scared he couldn't handle it,that's why he ran away after the fight had ended with that 'angry' look on his face, that most characters do when they feel misunderstood. ('Because I WANTED to protect you'!) |

To be fair I think he is more frustrated with himself. He stepped up and got shaken so easily. One small attack and he was down the corpses only adding to his panic. Then he got protected and could only watch as Bonbori was injured. If it hadn't seemed like he needed to be protected they might have been able to handle it without Bonbori getting hurt. But yeah I'm sure his pride has been hurt by this. Though I'm not sure how that's going to be resolved since he really doesn't seem that good in a fight. |

Papander said: I assumed it was because he thought she was cute at first, but looking back Susukihotaru didn't really take it that way. Now I'm confused by it as well...Really great episode! One thing I didn't quite get though.. the scene where the girls came out after putting on those dresses for the evening party. Why did Riken look away from Susukihotaru? Good episode. It's nice that these last 3 episodes have all been character development, first Zakuro, then Hotaru, and now the twins. Plus, this one didn't shut out the other characters as much. They all had their moments. I now officially like all of the girls.. so hard to pick a favorite. What is it with 2/3 of the guys in this show being useless, though? Riken is the only one to do anything! It's be nice if they could make Agemaki a bit more helpful. I never expected much from Ganryuu in the first place, so I'm not so disappointed about that. Even so, I hope they prove more useful in the episodes to come. Can't wait to see next week's. I really hope this series goes for longer than 12 episodes. |

Why did Riken look away from Susukihotaru? it was because riken was at loss of words (unlike hanadate's fake comment just to win over zakuro) at the beauty of susukihotaru. and thats why he took his eyes away. but she did misunderstand him. but later on, when she touched his shoulder as he leaned towards her to help her stand up, she accidentally read his mind and thanked him. awwww. i want her so badly. <3 The best part of the episode, OMG i cant really decide. making a grumpy face, agemaki: "he talks a lot for someone at a loss of words" +1 leaning at riken's shoulder, susukihotaru: "Thank you very much..." +1 zakuro crying after hitting agemaki for taking his eyes of from her. +1 holding zakuro in his arms, agemaki: "she's so powerful, and yet she is trembling" +1 Twins singing in rotation while being drunk. so lovely. +1 Revealing the powers of the twins and their determination to protect Ganryuu. +1 Twins fight scene and you-will-never-get-tired-of-the-lovely-song. +1 This is easily one of the best anime this season. The story is great, the artwork is great. and the character development thus far has been absolutely brilliant. |

| This episode was great, as everybody said it really made me like the other characters more evenly now. I already like Susukihotaru and Riken so this episode helped with the others. I am starting to root for Agemaki and Zakuro harder than before (obviously they will be getting together at some point, but I wasn't a huge fan of them separately or together) and the twins are really showing their true colors. As for why Riken is the only guy fighting is because, imo, he is the only one who has a "weak" girl to protect. Susukihotaru's power is useful but it's not a fighting power, and she herself said she isn't good at fighting. Zakuro and the twins have powers that give them an advantage over just a sword like their male partners have so they tend to take the reins more. Yeah Ganryuu could have slashed at the spider or whatever, even shot it if they have guns, but do you really think it would have done that much good? It probably would have overcame him easily and either the twins would have had to step in and save him anyways or he would have been killed. Also in regards to him being a prodigy maybe his expertise is tactical and not so much actual battle. As for the manga volume 5 just came out not too long ago so yeah, not much material to work with. Seems like it's one of those series that takes it's sweet time coming out too :(. I special ordered vol. 1 and I can't wait for it to arrive :3. If it's anything as good as the series I'll have to get the next 4 as well! |

| I love this show more and more with each episode I watch. I am dying to know why those people are after Zakuro and what secrets are yet to be revealed about her and her mother. Also the twins were so funny and cute in this episode. I can't pick my favorite out of the girls, I love them all! I hope this show goes for at least 26 or more. I'd hate it if they condensed it into 13 episodes, that is unless there would be a season 2, then I'd be okay with it ^^ |
| Well on MAL it says there is an N/A number of episodes. Maybe they will do something like Kami nomi zo shiru Sekai has. It was reveled that KamiNomi will have a number of episodes depending on the number of the auditorium and if it is really popular, they will make even a second season. I really hope JC Staff will do the same with Otome Youkai, but I doubt it it will be an over 13 season. Why? Because from what I heard, JC Staff has for the winter a couple of big works. They might make Shana S3 as well. |

| Ahh this show is absolutely brilliant. Thanks everyone for the screens.... those are some of the BEST moments. This is in the running for my fave of a season; the romance, the art, the music, the characters, the story... it's all pure win. Brilliant. |

| The twins really impressed in this episode. Always playful, relaxed and comfortable in their own skin, the twins were in their element at the ball (and incredibly adorable when they were a tiny bit drunk). However, they also showed their strength, calmness in the face of danger, resolve and how much they care for Ganryuu. Ganryuu must be feeling awful right now, much like Agemaki did awhile back but probably worse. He's no Riken, but he hopefully he'll get to the point where he can at least not be a liability in a fight. Really nice moment between Zakuro and Agemaki. It will be nice to see them grow closer together. To see her start to realize how much he likes her and to see him realize how much she relies on him. |
