Rules (Modified by XTApocalypse)

1. Be kind. Don't hurt others. Use the golden rule. What would your mother say, young man? Whatever, just be nice to each other. Seriously. You don't have to like everyone, just don't go around insulting or attacking people.

2. Please keep in mind that your opinions are just as valuable as those of the other posters. Don't get carried away and act as if yours are the only "right" ones there are - everyone is entitled to their own views! In other words, no bashing other fans, companies, dubs, sub fans (pro-dub is not anti-sub!), and so on. Which isn't to say you can't express a negative opinion or opinions - just keep them courteous, back them up, and above all else, keep in mind that they are your opinions.

3. Try to keep the discussion relevant to dubs in some way. We have a general focus on R1 (North American) dub releases, but feel free to discuss English dubs from outside of America, fandubs, or even dubs in other languages entirely! This is a place to freely talk about enjoying anime in any language outside of the usual Japanese. We're not extremely strict about this rule - it's more of a general guideline to keep in mind. As long as a discussion is carried on and it isn't an irrelevant spamfest, moderation usually won't get involved... and don't be afraid to start your own topics, they're always welcome. If it's something that you shouldn't be posting (porn, serious criminal stuff, how awesome your grandpa's Twitter account is...), odds are you'll know.

4. If conflict arises and one or both parties are having trouble calming it down on their own, send a message to XTApocalypse or any other staff member rather than letting it continue. If you think a situation is extremely urgent, such as an adbot attack or someone hijacking a staff account, you can PM all staff members at once in order to resolve the issue ASAP. This club is relatively peaceful, so we (or at least I) don't mind being notified of problems when they arise; please feel free to contact us at any time.

5. This one is another general guideline - you won't be banned for not following it, but it's a matter of common courtesy. Please, please put some effort into your typing. A little chatspeak is one thing, bt wen u r alwys typn liek ths wen u tak 2 uther ppl in da club, it forces others to do more work than they should have to in trying to understand what you're saying. Many of them probably won't bother, and will just ignore your comment completely. So if you've been experiencing this around the internet, that's why.

6. Be neutral. I'm not going to tell you to be positive about everything all the time - people have different philosophies. Just don't be a half-empty Debbie Downer who's always looking to prove someone wrong, poke a hole, take a jab, and otherwise knock others down at every opportunity. Even if your behavior is within the rules, negativity isn't something we want too much of in the club. I've been a part of some pretty sour, bitter communities, and seen firsthand that a negative atmosphere only serves to spawn more negativity. Just try to keep this in mind, is all - again, more of a guideline than a rule.

7. Don't image-spam. Some people are running on toasters that can't load 50 images at one time and still run smoothly. It's okay to post images and videos, just keep it reasonable. Threads like the "show your collection" thread where it's understood there are going to be whole photo collections posted are an exception to this rule.

Warnings/Bans

There's a simple warning and ban system:
Offense #1: A warning will be PMed to you by a moderator.
Offense #2: You will be banned for a week.
Offense #3: You will be banned permanently.

Please keep in mind that this system is not absolute. We make every effort to be fair, but we are not obligated to follow it - if a situation is extreme enough (ad-spamming, revealing others' personal information, etc.) we can and will administer perma-bans. No warnings, no red tape, nothing. We don't take clear, malicious behavior lightly.

Last updated April 23, 2017, to eliminate the rules against illegal streaming sites and update language on some of the other rules.

I updated Anomalous's original few rules a bit (with some of my own wording, don't consider it taken directly out of her mouth) and added the above five to the list. These ones are newly-instated - please read over them and if you think there are any problems, please speak up. I'm not a dictator, and I'm not going to decapitate you or anyone else for debating with me. I'm always open to it, just as I'm always open to revising these rules. I'll be updating them in the future as needed.
