I didn't say I hated it, it's fine for a first episode and all, but I was expecting more being this manga one of my favorites.  |

Being completely unfamiliar with any other form of this series, I was underwhelmed. I thought the characters were rather bland, and what little they hinted at of the plot didn't catch my interest at all. Unless "supernatural detective show" sounds really appealing to you, I'm not gonna be recommending this one. |

So far, my best anime for this season. Amazing OST, a great atmosphere and main character is interesting enough.  |

I've been waiting for a long time for this to come out, and I must say, it was worth the wait. It wasn't a perfect first episode, by any means, but I've seen much worse. I haven't read either the novels or the manga adaptations, so it was all new to me. Overall, I like the feel of it. I thought that the music was good (the OP and ED, especially), but some of it was a little...off. I can't wait for next week's episode! The episode was pretty great, but it kinda felt rushed for me compared to the manga. Oh well I guess that's just how I feel. It's definitely gonna be a great series, though the ED wasn't really good, I loved the opening though. :)  |

I got dibs on Yakumo! He is so fine...laid back, smooth talking...and what was it that Gotou-san called him? The Magic Cat...yeah, he looks like a cat, long, lean, and so sleek...smooth, too. I enjoyed the first episode and look forward to more. ^^ |

When i saw this in the new season line up I wasnt sure if i was going to like this. But it's actually really good. Can't wait for the new episodes to come out.  |

Not too surprisingly the episode was even better with dialogue. I really liked Yakumo's character, he's not a complete white knight even though he seems to be a good guy. Enjoyed the cast and the dialogue, I thought it was well written. The mystery about who the killer was and the confrontation with him was a little weak but all in all a good debut. And whatever sense of disbelief is required suspended I thought the moment on the rooftop was touching and visually interesting with the blazing inferno around them. And is it just me or does Yakumo run like a girl? :P |

It lacks so much of the humor the manga had, and really dumbs down how the case was solved. With only 20 mins and 13 episodes to work with i guess i just got to let a few things sidle. |
