According to Moonphase, the studio doing this anime will be Pierrot. Pierrot is doing Bleach and Naruto that are two long-running series from WSJ, just like Beelzebub, so could it be that the Beelzebub anime is planned to be long-running too?

Btw the studio is so-so imo. They are doing a decent job with non-long-running series, but the long ones' quality are really bad sometimes, propably due to budget problems.

Meh... I don't watch Bleach or Naruto exactly because they have too many episodes xD (the only long-running series I watch is KHR) but since it's Beelzebub and the manga is made of win I'll watch it no matter how many episodes it has xD

IMO Sunrise would have been the perfect studio to do Beelzebub. I guess the only thing I can really say is to expect lots of filler and poor quality animation. Hopefully, at the very least they'll use the same voice actors from the special.

^Since Pierrot is doing the special too, I'm pretty sure they will. And there is still a chance that it will be only a short series, since there isn't a lot of manga material. They would have to start doing fillers like after the 25-26th episode. Also, fillers are necesarry, no matter what studio is doing it. Sunrise made fillers in Gintama and Inuyasha too.

Maybe they will do same thing as with Letter Bee, they will make a 24 episodes long series, then take a break, and continue it 2 seasons later.

No monthly manga has more then 52 episodes unless the manga is done or it is a filler anime like with each episode a filler except for about 8 of the episodes being not filler like keroro gunso. So Since its weekly it has a huge chance of being a long anime if it gets really popular on Japanese TV o DVD Sales.

ARG, I can't seem to decide. It would be good with a long running one I guess, as it would be more awesome Beelzebub fun BUT I think it would be better to have like 26 ep. and then several seasons. ^^
But I am not sure... Lets see ^^ I am just REALLY happy that this awesome manga is getting an Anime that is hopefully just as awesome ^^ :D

I really want this manga to have a long running anime, but all the evidence points it not going to, It has only 88 chapters that can easily be covered in like less then 30 episodes. Also most long running anime start when the manga has about 130 chapters. Unless they can find a way to make each episode a chapter, like one piece.

The real worry is not Studio Pierrot, but rather Director: Takamoto, Norihiro.

why is it such a worry? this dude produced an anime that is 367 episodes long and the manga version of that anime is the longest running manga in history.

I can't comment on that anime, but if you read the comments on his MAL page you'd see why. I've only seen 2 of the animes he's directed (Ookami Kakushi, 07 Ghost), but they are both extremely bad adaptions.

Judging by the director's past and present work (present including that piece of shit Starry Sky), I can safely say this anime will probably end up in the Naruto/Bleach/One Piece category for me.

IE: No care not ever.

I'm sure the shounen jump fanboys will love it though.

I saw on the wiki page for the anime that there's only 12 episodes 'listed', that might not be true, and it could change, but I'm hoping it's real.

I would be utterly shocked if this is true. Theres way too many characters in the OP, and the story is going too slow for it to be only 12 episodes. 24-26 maybe, but not 12

I believe I read once that the studios only reveal the episodes they are gonna do in 1 cour. You can ussually guess how many they will do by looking at the spot they will be taking and the anime they are replacing but there are only ever confirmed around 12 or so episodes at once. Probably so they can cut the project short if there's a problem.
