| I don't really see why we should turn off our brain while watching Gurren Lagann, it has a simple story and simple characters but it still has it and it's far from being only a pretext action fights and frenzy. |

Are you serious? I mean, the stuff that happens in the show is absolutely ridiculous and, unless I'm missing something, it mostly is just a string of fight scenes. I'm not saying I dislike the show, I can see why it's so popular. But, for me to love a show I need something more. |

| What is ridiculous exactly? Edit : I mean Kamina's death was ridiculous? Simon's depression and revival were ridiculous? And the whole background of Nia was ridiculous? |

| Oh boy... the dialogue, the fact that somehow the mech's speak out of their mouth's, the character designs for most of the characters, the fact that the show relies on GAR so much to entertain us, and so many other things. Once again, just because I say it is ridiculous does not mean i'm not enjoying the show. I am, but you can't tell me that the show isn't ridiculous. That is part of it's appeal, at least to me. |

| The mecha and the chara design aren't elements fo the plot. Same for the GAR whole thing. They don't have any incidence on the story and on the characters devellopment. They are just elements to give a funny and light atmosphere but that doesn't means they kills all the seriousness of the story. You can do something entertaining and with a solid yet simplistic plot, it's not like it's two things totally incompatible. Top Wo Narae also has a ridiculous mecha design, but that doesn't mean it's not serious. |

And, yes, I do think the character design does effect the seriousness ,and my enjoyment, of the show. And, I never said you can't do anything with a simplistic plot. Look at shows like Spice & Wolf, it has a simple story but the characters are so well done it doesn't even matter. |

| I used Top Wo Narea as an example to say that a show can have a ridiculous mecha design while being serious, that wasn't a comparison. Also I would agree that the mecha design and the chara design can kill the credibility of a series. But that's about all, I don't think a show with a funny chara design can't be serious. As in my opinion, Gurren Lagann has an awesome story that borrows perfectly the whole oversize idea. Also the fact that the plot is really simple help a lot to give it a dynamism I've never seen in any anime. |

| This was insaaane duude! Spectacular episode, beyond epic fight and mindblowing finale! I'm looking forward the nex arc, but I might take a break now and watch something else, I'm afraid my body can't take so much excitment episode after episode! This fight and this episode are going for my top 3. |

| I like how pretty much all the episodes leading up to this point involved the scale of the things they were dealing with getting exponentially bigger than they were previously, and then in this episode it all gets smaller and smaller. They started as simple humans, discovered langann, then gurren, then langann gurrer; Face one small guy, then bigger, stronger, and more numerous guys; Gather a bit of a small army of gunmen, face one of those huge dai-gunmen things, acquire one for themselves, get an army of reinforcement gunmen for themselves from around the world; Acquire new abilities for Gurren Langann and Dai-Gurren, defeat 2 Dai-gunmen at once along with a huge army of regular gunmen, only to discover the enormous final boss gunmen that is the size of multiple cities that makes Dai-Gurren look to be about the size of a nail compared to just the hammer on the thing. Then starts the decline in scale. *Boom* Dai-Gurren is destroyed in order to bypass the defenses of the huge boss gunman; Gurren-Langann takes on it's equal; Langann separates to fight alone; The boss abandons the gunmen to fight bare-handed; Langann is pretty much destroyed leaving Simon in the boss's hands, man to man; The little drill is the final finishing-move weapon... They should have had the boss pull out his own tiny drill and clash those together for a stalemate, and then let some microbes on the drills battle it out for final victory, lol! |

| :o. Nice ep. Took the Spiral King out pretty quick though.. sorta wondering what the last 10 eps will be about now. >.> Yay for Viral surviving! I like him for some strange reason.. and Yay for getting to be reminded on how awesome Kamina is in the next ep. :3 Oh and I am very interested in finding out how the mecha things ended up coming into exsitence.. Wish the Spiral King had said more. :/ |

T_T even now his death leaves a scar in my heart. When those reinforcements came, that voice almost sounded like his... glimmer of hope short-lived :|. Lol why can't I accept he's dead D: |

| Good episode, but I still don't get why this show was so highly rated! I hear it gets better the next arc though. I mean it's entertaining and all, just not a 10/10 for me yet. and the plot seems like a huge rip off of a novel trilogy I just read. :l Although it's probably just a coincidence. |

| So today I learned that the child in me still loves DBZ-esque fights. Damn that was fucking awesome how he thrust his spiral key and literally drilled through the Spiral King's torso. I did not see that coming. |
