I was planning on watching this show, could people recommend if I watch it in Japanese of the English Dub?

Are there any edit in the dub?

No edits. This should've gone into it's own anime discussion forum.

Both versions are good, and equal for the most part. Sam Regal is my personal gem of the dub as Viral.

Both are good, but the Japanese dub just feels more natural.

Oh, the dub is definitely better. I started watching it a few days ago myself and watched the first episode twice, once subbed and once dubbed and I must say, the dub is very well done.

I would definately go with the dub. The voices are so much more interesting in the dub, and they handle emotion quite well.

I watched the entire series subbed first, and then bought the DVDs with the english track on them.

After re-watching some of the better scenes of the series in English and the entire last episode, I'd have to say it's your own personal choice. Most of the voices in the dub fit just fine, with the exception of Kamina's. It's not bad, but it's just different from his Japanese version which had more spunk to it.

I especially like the way his japanese voice felt like he was rolling his words at times, it just sounded so much more epic.

Give both a listen if you can and pick for yourself which you prefer.

The sub is better, but there are a lot of ( in my opinion ) amazing voice actors in the dub.

I like the sub and don't like much of what I've heard of the dub (mostly a youtube clip of things like Simon's comeback etc.)

The dub is fantastic. As Chris said the dub handles emotion quite well.

Watched the whole series subbed in 2007. Decided to watch the series again, this time dubbed in English. Thought the dub was horrible. Only good voice actor in the dub is the Helix King.

I typically like subs better for anime, but when a GOOD dub comes along its something special.

Other than a few quirks with a few characters esp late in the show, the dub quality is excellent. far above average.

Dub most definitely. Although Simon in subs was wicked epic.

Both are equally good so I say just go with either one. Your getting a great cast either way soo XD

Either way your getting something good.
Personally I would recommend watching them both, but thats not a viable option for most people.

So I guess...if your going to pirate it.
Watch it dubbed. That way you can watch it on youtube and give the producers money while your at it.
(Legal Streams FTW)

If your going to buy the series watch it subbed.

Definitely the dub, I think Kamina's english va, Kyle Hebert, is fantastic.

I feel that sub is just always better unless the anime is really really western.

Language changes things so much, I feel English is just not the right language in a lot of the Japanese anime's imo (English is my 2nd language, but I live in England so I am fluent).

The feel, the vibe, environment, the little comedy/wit in the sentences, it is lost in translation literally.

I mean it is similar to how i feel, some of the best English shows/comedies, lose all their magic when translated into another language.

Sadly, as we are reading subs, naturally we are losing a lot - but at least you go the sound and you definitely get a different feel when it is said in Japanese, some sentences seem completely normal in Japanese but once translated it just is like what the?

Trying to re-watch it subbed is pretty damn difficult after watching the superior dub.
