One of my 10 year old Japanese students asked me to draw Pikachu in his workbook. I sat there holding a pen, a bunch of kids staring at me expectantly, and for the life of me I couldnt remember what the hell the beast looked like, except for its colour and its zigzagged tail. What I drew ended up looking like a rabies-infected mutant cat monster clawing for life desperately against the paper I had drawn it on. The kids disappointment was palpable. Pikachu definitely doesn't die in the anime. Well he hasn't done yet and I don't think taht he will given that the anime is watched by a lot of kids, altohugh other kid shows have had deaths (finding nemo, bambi) |
