Pretty good episode. Keiichiro's past and what happened to his parents was as sad and profound as what happened to Haruka's car accident in Kimi no Nozomu Eien. Flower was rather cute for a android. I was more under the impression that Keiichiro's sister took control of Flower when she woke from her sleep. Kind of the soul in the machine thing. It was because she wanted to give back Keiichiro's music playing since it was the last thing she wanted to hear. In the end he did start playing.

Anyways in case someone missed it, Transformer's Autobots indirect reference in the spoiler, on the T-Shirt.
This was a whole story in a OVA about how a soul in a android (Parents) can change someone's loneliness into happiness and being able to do something that one could not.

I don't get the significance of having her headphones on the sunflower at the end? He left her..? :S

I think she died(well malfunctioned to be exact) she managed to live for a couple of days but in the end, she couldn't handle it anymore... D:

That's about right gdone123, it was exactly that. Except she lived for a few more months. Maybe the sister had run of time to stay on earth and the soul left Flower so she could not function anymore or just her core simply out-spanned it life length and there were no more parts for that left.

I also think that the music box he was holding at the end was part of Flower's gear or something xDD

It was, I have the proof in the spoiler to compare in the first pic is Flower's insides and the second the music box part. They look alike except Keiichiro gold plated one part of Flower's original part.

Yumekichi you're good at thinking xD

Surely it were her parts inside music box-he said''sing with me''or sth so she was there:>
Talking about soul..there was his sister's soul in her but also giving her life allowed android to become more human, like and get to know things that it wanted:>

One thing is strange-the guy that left her for the first time..there was a reason.Mb God doing or sth O.o

But anyway sad ending...

eh... didnt rly make me bawl...
maybe i dont rly care for loli? (I'm so inhumane lol)

But it does make you ponder for a bit. Great job on packing a story in 30 minutes of animation.

Wow, I didn't expect it to be that sad..

A simple, heartwarming story, the emotion they managed to pack into 30 minutes was just great.

Didn’t feel sad in the least, strangely. I must be numb or simply cold-hearted today. Or maybe I don’t care too much for lolis.

The animation quality was absolutely amazing, though. Fluid movements, great backdrop art, attention to detail… I’m impressed.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

I didn't know Flower was wearing a headphone the whole time, I thought it's just the design of the android. The last part with the sunflower really got me. That's sad. It She lived a very short time.

i don't see why the guy don't keep her body even when she stopped working, it not like she can't be fixed but the repairman he call not good enough. he working on a band so i don't think it too hard to get enough money to get her fixed in a better place

oh shit, I'd heard this was sad, didn't expect it to be Key-level sadism. ;_; I shouldn't watch sad things right before bed D:
For a while, this felt like a pilot for a series, until the end. It'd be nice to get a series out of this, though. (With a a nicer ending, maybe...?XD) I'd watch it.

also people keep calling this a Chobits rip-off and it 's not. A robot girl does not a Chobits rip-off make. Also, Flower >>>>>> Chii.

For an indy anime this had some fantastic art. Especially the backgrounds.*__*

Keiichiro dresses like a Digimon character. /random observation

overall 8 and crying myself to sleep. (No, not really.) Toodle pip.

I agree that this was very sad. I had panned on going to bed after watching this but now I cant.(damn) I would also like to see this as a full anime with a happier ending. I kinda wish that I had not watched the very end at least.(the part with the flower and her headphones In the last 18 seconds or so) In the end Flower really helped him I seriously wish that it had a happy ending.

Probably the worst iv felt after watching anime and iv seen some sad things.
8/10 easy if it was longer I would have like it even more though that would have been even sadder. The part towards the end when hes about to play and he has the little music box was really a (dare I say it) cute.

This was a excellent short movie - the visuals of hermit crabs being hermit crabs than water come to wash them away and their seen hiding in their shells, the girl Flower catching on that his face was indeed sad at times, the sparklers, the fireworks, the visuals felt 2D at times especially with the Keiichiro's hair but other than that no complaints, it was pleasant to view the scenery! I liked that the guy's shorts went over his knees, I hardly ever see that in animes. I found the bond to be special between the two, Flower came in his broken life and lifted his spirit. From the start I could tell the main character Keiichiro was off and seemed distant and uncaring - but from the point he cared about Flower being in that rain all alone, he gradually begins to change. Also I think the girl is so sweet in her attempts at cooking, to keep the place clean, cheering him up and to enjoy life - she finds greatness in her day, something new everyday for her to write about later in her dairy. When you see the message this short movie sends its hard to pass it up and deem it a waste of time, like I said its excellent. Now I just wish that Flower was given new/more outfits and more hairstyles because she was such a sweet girl I'd of loved to see her spoiled like a princess D8 Damn it all Keiichiro! However I enjoyed seeing her barefoot at times because it shown how delicate she was but really! ;-;

"Please let me be a part of your household. Forever."

It was really short, but it was also really good. I enjoyed it, with special mention to the music. It managed to deliver, in half an hour what other anime many times longer couldn't. It might have been even better if it was even a little bit longer. Cute, heartwarming and sad. Flower ;_;

^ I pity you for seeing this kind of OVA...

Well, what can I say...The atmosphere at the end kinda felt like the Hotarubi no Mori e kind of sadness...so sad, yet giving a conclusion that leaves much to be desired. It felt like moving on with that kind of conclusion makes your heart crush in itself if you think about it. Ugh, the feels again!

8/10!
