| Ivan walked through the double doors of the Cappella Rosso. To either side of the entryway was a staircase. They met up at the top, leading to a door flanked by guards. Between the staircases was another door, this one unguarded. It led to a modest bar, and it was there that Ivan was bound. His footsteps echoed dully as he strode across the tile floor, and the whirring of the motors beneath his jacket sleeve were just audible. He briefly listened to the familiar sound, entranced by its swaying rhythm. As he crossed the threshold of the bar, however, jazz music drowned out the sound. "Just water today," Ivan said to the bartender, who swiftly and silently filled his order. Ivan took the glass and turned his back against the bar, looking at the dimly lit, empty seats and listening to the syncopated melodies of the piano playing softly over hidden speakers. To a more social man, it might seem a depressing scene -- a man sitting alone in a quiet bar -- but to Ivan, it was a welcome reprieve from the bustle of the city. This place was his own personal haven, where he could be alone with his thoughts for hours on end, or at least for as long as he can keep turned away from the bartender. |
| Andrea walked into the bar. Differently like he always does. This time, though, he didn't think any flashy entrance was necessary. He just opened the door like any other normal person, only with his shoulders high. "Well! Ain't it cold out there!?" Andrea yelled while tossing his jacket to the side, landing on the coat rack. He then yelled out again to the bartender for a drink. Anything as long as it wasn't alcoholic. As expected there wasn't a lot of people there. He only saw one person in the bar. A beginning psychological profile came up as he continued looking at him. He seemed to be a quiet person, looking for something. Though he couldn't tell details from just looks. He decided to sit on the other side of where he was sitting. Receiving his drink, he threw a $10 to the bartender and started to sip lightly on his drink. |
| Ivan blatantly glared for a moment at the man who disturbed his quiet time before returning to his glass with a scowl. Being here, he must be a fellow Gavotte, but he didn't recognize him. He wondered if the mystery man was new to the organization, or if they just hadn't crossed paths before. From his entrance, Ivan was thankful he had avoided him this long regardless. Ivan turned back to the bar and set down his glass. "On second thought," he said to the bartender, "get me some whiskey." |
| Andrea thought to himself that the man ordering alcohol was supposed to be a challenge, or to prove that he was man enough to drink alcohol and not what seemed to be water. It could have been vodka from that distance but no sane man would drink vodka and then whisky afterwards. Whether it was the former or the latter, he didn't really care. All that mattered was his strawberry milk~ He then snapped back to reality. "With your momentary stare, I assume we haven't met before." Andrea quietly said. |
| Ivan looked up at his neighbor with a sharp gaze. After hours out in those noisy, filthy streets, all Ivan wanted was some time to himself, and yet it seemed that such would be unattainable thanks to this intruder. He picked up his water and took a drink, looking back down to the bar. "No, we haven't," he replied, as the chink of glassware sounded from behind the bar. Once that gave way to the flowing of liquor, Ivan asked a question of his own. "Member?" He fixed his eyes back on the man, watching him carefully for his answer. |
| He seemed very uptight about it. Probably upset him somewhere, my presence probably again. "Ja, new here. Guessing you are too." he said idly. |
| I guess that means I have to be nice to him. Bah. Ivan let his eyes wander back down to his glass. "Hardly," he replied as the bartender delivered his whiskey. Picking it up, he continued, "I've been here for three years." Ivan poured some of the golden liquid into his awaiting lips, letting the sharp flavor mingle in his mouth a bit before swallowing. Not wishing to continue conversing with his neighbor, he chose to speak to the bartender instead. "Hey, Jack. Any jobs that need doing?" The bartender, Jack was his name, set down a glass he had just picked up and pulled from his pocket a PDA. "One moment, please." He looked at the screen for a while, tapping buttons and causing the illumination of his face to change color several times, before shifting over towards Ivan. "Apparently someone wants the Venus Eyes. They're going on display for a few days at the Lucente Manor." "The Venus Eyes?" "Diamonds, Ivan. I've never seen them personally, but they say each one is the size of a baby's fist. They're worth a fortune. The current owner, however, is something of a paranoid man. He employs ruthless security." |
| (Sorry for the ages of not RPing. Internet is a bit shaky and I'm really busy with life. It's annoying.) Andrea heard the conversation going on in the background. It kinda enticed him. Kinda. He wasn't really into theft, unless there was great reason for it. Though, now that he thought of it, he could try his luck with burglary, even though it wasn't his forte. "No security is flawless." Andrea said out loud. "There is a always a hole and when you find it, you make it bigger." |
