Ten Nights of Dreams is a series of short stories by Natsume Soseki. He composed ten strange dreams set in various time periods beginning with his contemporary time (the Meiji period) and including dreams set in the age of the gods, the Kamakura period, and 100 years in the future. The dreams were adapted into ten short films by eleven Japanese directors in 2006.

Thanks goes to slenderfall for picking this fortnights film. Keep your suggestions coming everyone! :)

Well you can watch it in bits, I quite enjoyed most of them and I think I will give it another watch one of these days - if I don't melt before

Did you ever watch this? I am watching it now.

So far the second story is my favourite because it was funny and there was this cool atop-motion effect. Also, I like when a film imitates a silent/ b&w picture but plays with the sound and colour as a result.

I really liked the third one, but the child's eyes got to me. It's interesting to see Ao many references to stomach problems, as they are also a major concern in I Am A Cat. This is probably the most obvious detail, but I suppose the author must have been plagued by them and so writes about them often. Or it could just be a common problem and many people can sympathize with it.

Do you know whether ALL of the dreams/stories protagonists are supposed to be Natsume Soseki?

I know! It reminded me of The Mountain Song scene from the Taste of Tea!
