Oh boy... doesn't that sound interesting and unique... Never read the light novel, but based on the synopsis, it doesn't sound that great.

Sounds veeeeerry so-not-unique.

Edit:
If two of these girls kiss, then I'm definitely watching. Otherwise, bai-bai.

The title sounded cool and I got my hopes up for a high fantasy series. Alas, it just sounds like another 'normal boy without any personality finds a magic girl and also acquires a harem' type of story. Not very interesting at all.

Come on guys! It's about a boy who encounters a mysterious girl and gains super powers to fight off some evil......
Wow, that really does sound like every shounen ever made. Except with a harem. Oh boy...

If your going to complain that Yu-Gi-Oh! Mangas are on the top NY times manga best sellers, you must not realize how popular Card games are(as well as the fact that you get a free card).

probably going to be just as bad as the adaptation of Deltora Quest
"Forged in darkness with wheat harvested from Hell's half acre. Baked by Beelzabub; slathered with mayonnaise beaten from the evil eggs of dark chickens, force-fed to dogs by the hands of a one-eyed madman. Cheese boiled from the rancid utters of fanged cows. Layered with 666 separate meats from an animal which has maggots for blood."

The market has become saturated with too many light novels (I blame Haruhi) and thus quality is not an issue anymore.

Now even harem series are being written in light novel form its jarring....

Did I ever mention Kanokon was based off a LN? Not that I ever watched it but hey

Otherwise, yeah, they are just sticking to used formulas that will guarantee about break-even sales. I mean, just look at the viewer ratings for stuff like Yojohan.

What IS the point of these harem/bishoujo light novels anyway? If the main attraction is pretty girls, then why write a work that is 80% text and 20% images?

Novels should be works which have intricate plots which would be difficult to using any other medium. Otherwise, the writer should try to write a visual novel (a video game, so completley different from a light novel) instead.

Surprised no-one's mentioned the Haruhi look-a-like on the scan...

Fff the word dragon in connection to the name "Rose" makes me think of American Dragon. Even though this sounds NOTHING like American Dragon otherwise. XD
Art reminds me of Hayate no Gotoku.

Probably won't watch. -shrug-

My thoughts exactly! I heard there was a new show called Dragon Crisis....so here I am, all excited, and go to check it out, and what do I find?!?!?! Pretty looking crap! WHERE'S MA DAMN DRAGONS PEOPLE?!?!?!

I will definitely pass. I hate harem types the most :'( I wouldn't even care if he was this 'normal boy'.....but why does everyone need a freakin' harem?

Because women are pleasant to look at and don't detract from the plot?

I would hazard a guess that there is a somewhat intricate plot in there, and it just also has harem, bishoujo etc.

As far as why write a harem ln instead of just doing the anime? The same argument could be made for Manga, and yet a new ecchi harem manga is born every day.

Heck, James Bond was originally a set of novels. Why write James Bond as a novel when the selling point is a devilishly attractive secret agent seducing female agents and engaging in all manner of action scenes? Because some of us don't view reading as a bad thing. Because the author is taking efforts to bypass the limits of his craft, keep us interested in women despite not having a picture displaying every frame of her walk to the grocery store.

Wow, that really does sound like every shounen ever made. Except with a harem. Oh boy...

Um, I didn't see anything about him gaining super powers. At the very least it would seem "His power as a relic handler" would seem to be a pre-existing power. And likely isn't a power so much as a level of skill in handling relics. Anyway, at the end of the day I'm a fan of shonen so I don't foresee any problems.

Normal and normal. . . I don't know about that but the anime was kind of interesting but to short considering the light novel series are now 11 volumes. 12 anime episodes are just not even close to enough. . . started reading the first book in the series yesterday though but my Japanese isn't the best yet so it will take a while :D
