The production committee of B Gata H Kei announced in the official website that the production studio and the scenario writers of the anime have been receiving threatening letters persistently. The letters threaten to inflict injury on the producers unless they alter the content and the expression of the anime. Wait. Is a girl wanting to become a slut really THAT controversial? If it was a shoujo (or even a josei), I could understand, but it isn't. It is (an adaptation of) a seinen. In other words, it is aimed at males aged 18 or above. If the girls don't like it, they shouldn't be watching it. Besides, the manga has been running for 6 years, hasn't it? Why hasn't the author received any death threats yet? Unless this is about TV censorship (which is extremely tight in Japan), in which case, they should have aimed their shots at AT-X and the other broadcasters instead, as they were the ones who deemed it OK to broadcast. |

The people who wrote those letters probably didn't even see the show. They just heard the premise of 'a show about a girl who wants to have 100 sex partners,' didn't even BOTHER to see an episode and immediately went on to death threats |

It probably was someone that didn't even bother watching the show; just made a personal review based on the synopsis. In the end the show is not about a girl being a slut, it's about two young people starting to get into adulthood. But I don't have to tell this to anyone who has watched the show and has the least bit of brains. The show actually depicts a very normal and natural thing: sexual interest. Both men and women have it, and men aren't the only perverts out there. It's just that women are more reserved about it (some women that is). /end.of.rant |
