Please feel free to use this thread to make suggestions for:

> Games
> Activities
> Contests
> Layouts
> Pictures
> "Other" threads (questions/discussion etc)
> Navigation
> Member cards (though please realise I am doing the current ones; I have just been busy and will finish ASAP)
> Other

Please title your suggestion with one of the above topics before explaining the details (it will allow me to see where the most demand for change/editing is).

Please do not make any rude or inappropriate suggestions or they will be ignored. This is just a thread for allowing the club to become a better place for everyone.

Creativity is welcome here with regards to activities/club design/contests etc. Discussion is also encouraged about suggestions that have been made.

Thank you for your time!

Has anyone got any ideas for activities to run in the club? Something nice that can get everyone involved?

how about a layout contest? after the club's picture is chosen, then a layout contest can take place possibly matching with the voted avatar's theme?

or a claim thread~

imo a layout contest that goes alongside the avatar contest would cause the quality and/or amount of (layout) entries to decrease; as it is, by the time voting for the layout is over, the next avvy contest would likely be underway. If we were to seriously consider a layout contest while keeping regular (monthly or so) avvy contests then it would probably be better to have the layouts not intended to match the avvies.

Dunno about claims but I honestly dislike the idea. Somehow it seems as if it would "cheapen" the club or something. :/ (this club is supposed to be a community of sorts... not a shop or something, right? >.<) Also it seems rather unnecessary as it would be similar to the current member card system.

1. That's if the contest and voting lasts for an unnecessary long period ~_~
2. Y!A club avatars usually last 3 months.

it might be worth a try~ if it doesn't work then on to another suggestion
the purpose is to bring ideas to the fort that other members can participate in

I agree with making suggestions and ideas but I also said it is for discussion. Not everything is going to possible/sensible. I also did already discuss this with someone. I don't feel it's fair without a reward to have a layout contest as it requires much more work and effort than an avatar would. I also think there is a lot more involved with regards to capabilities (must have all the navigational links and in working order - which some members of MAL do not know how to do). It would be too much demand to expect a constant flow of layout entries per one/two months. I think if someone volunteers themself to make a layout and everyone is in agreement that, that is a good idea then they should go right ahead and I will be happy to change it. But as it stands you would be required to receive a positive general consesus (which I think is nicely earned through success in the avatar contest - people recognise your talent). Rukayex current layout, I did not change without receiving positive feedback across the comment board when I asked before she became admin as you may recall.

I also agree here, not in the sense of selling out as such but because this is NOT a claim club. There are clubs specifically for claiming. It would lose it's purpose as the Y!A club if it became a claim club. It's not like I disagree with claim clubs (seriously I'm joined to a ton of them) but in this case I do think it's inappropriate. I mean joking threads like "Claim a C&A Reg" (although a seperate club has been made for this anyway XD) are acceptable as they are based purely in the community section of this club and could be classified as a game (just like "C&A family" thread). If you can think of other "claim" topics that might be appropriate feel free to suggest them but not just "Claim a female charrie" or "Claim a manga" etc.

Yo.
I’m new here, but I thought it would be alright to interject my suggestions as well.

I noticed that the submissions for the avatar contest are first presented publicly in a thread.
Wouldn’t it be better if the entries were instead sent to a club administrator, and then when the time came for voting the admin posted them in the contest?
This way all the submissions would remain anonymous to the club members, and everyone would truly get an equal chance.

And since this contest appears to only occur every few months, it wouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience for the admin.

I have considered doing this actually (though I've been having a problem with my MAL messaged until recently), and the other admin Rukayex suggested it to me. Fortunately it's probably a good thing we didn't do this month however, since MAL messages have gone down (for everyone this time around :P).

I might do it for the next avatar contest if MAL is in good shape :)
