As expected of Nisio to write such a crazy story. And having SHAFT of all studios animate it, is the icing on the cake. The show completely lived up to all of its expectations and the hype, having mindfuck-inducing scenery dominate the episodes and talented seiyuu voice the illustrious characters, thus leaving me with no choice but to give it a perfect store. Nisemonogatari, I'm on my way. ![]() The release of atomic energy has not created a new problem. It has merely made more urgent the necessity of solving an existing one. - Albert Einstein |

I kinda wish that someone would have told me that this show doesn't follow a normal plot. It was kind of like a bunch of different stories taking place around Araragi. Not that this is a bad thing. I loved it, it's just I wish I knew before since I didn't get it until halfway through the season. Anyways, this was a great show! I pretty much liked all the characters and I kind of wish the Senobu (sp?) would have gotten one more episode. This was a good ending. Hanekawa was definitely my second favorite girl after Hitagi and so I'm glad her arc was last. Did she try and save him since she's the one who asked him to step into the light? I hope Nisemonogatari is just as good although I've heard it's not "Someone who will walk alongside me, someone who will hold my hand, someone who won't mind that it's me" |

Decent ending to a decent series. Conversations can be long and slightly boring but sometimes the humour was good. Characters were solid, animation is actually good once you get used to it, although I was extremely put off by it earlier. 8/10, would watch the sequel after a break. |

I always feel sort of strange when everyone is praising a series like it's one of the greatest ever. It makes me set my expectations higher than they would be if I was just looking for an anime to pass the time. This series was a mixed bag. Monkey arc was great. The crab and cat arcs were okay. Snake and snail arcs were dull. The random flashes of text and other inserts of animation brought it down a bit for me. The dialogue that takes up the majority of the show was sometimes good, other times they would drag things out too long or go off on tangents. The main problem for me wasn't the focus on dialogue though. The show just felt like it was lacking danger for the most part and the stories felt pretty weak. Every apparition was either a cute girl or haunting a cute girl. The characters were for the most part, just alright to me. I really don't get the obsession with Hitagi. She just feels like a mix of a bunch of different character types. Her back story was interesting though. Suruga was probably my favorite character since she was both different than the rest of the girls who just fall for Araragi and realistic in the way she acted. The others each had their moments but none of them stood out as much as these two. So yeah, it was alright. If I ever have nothing else to watch, I'll consider checking out the sequel. 6/10 |

People like myself are obsessed with love Hitagi because she is such a well rounded , unique , complex , charismatic and an unpredictable character among other stuff. If you like ecchi you might like the sequel but no need to force yourself of course. ![]() |

After that I got a really good arc that kept me going and hoped the remaining ones would be on the same level. As for Hitagi, I agree on unique and unpredictable for sure. She made me laugh a few times with the way she reacted to things(ex. Araragi is bleeding like crazy on the ground. She calmly hands him the money he left and scolds him) I can see why people would like her but by obsession, I meant how people were practically raging in episode discussions when she didn't make an appearance lol. I've got no problems with ecchi though, in fact if it's got a decent story and isn't totally random then I usually like it. I'll probably get around to it eventually. |
