How long should it take for your list to update after importing some entries?
Coz I just imported my list from the xml file that I previously exported and it said that all entries have been updated but when I go to my list I see nothing. T_T

Wait for like 15 mins and try again?

Hm, did you make sure to provide the <update_on_import>1</blah> thing?

Same thing happened to me, I imported the .xml, made sure to change all the "update_on_import" values to 1, then the list said that "following entries have been added" showing all 224 of them, but on the list it said nothing.

Are you trying to add or edit?

This is exactly what I'm doing at the moment:
Going to "My Panel"
Under "My Statistics" and "Anime Entries", clicking on add entries
Under "Other ways to add", clicking on Import Anime
Selecting MyAnimelist Import, choosing the .xml file from my computer, and getting the following message after selecting import:

However, when I go to the "My Anime List" link on the left-hand navigation menu, I am greeted with all the categories completely empty showing no anime whatsoever. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? I would assume that in this case I am trying to add anime, but if we are meant to do it through an edit of some sort, I am certainly not doing that....

It only 'updates' shows. It doesn't 'add' them if they aren't there. This will be added shortly though.

ahh okay, thanks for the heads up, I was hoping I wouldn't have to manually add them again but oh well. But hey, seeing as you're an admin, I was wondering if you could help me out. My friends thought would be funny to change my username on my other account (the one the import is coming from) knowing full well that you can only change it once a month. Seeing as i can't change my username back to the original, I created a mimic of that account and thats the one i'm using right now to send this message, is there any way to change the username back to the original even though the month hasn't passed yet (600 hours to go lol), as in is it possible to manually change the username? please let me know, thanks

I'll soon add a feature so that you can add through import. Sorry on the username thing, so many people ask that I just can't do it.

Thats too bad, oh well I guess I'll just have to add my entries one by one.

This is finally fixed.

Hey Xinil thanks a lot for patching it, however, there's one discrepancy. Although it shows up on the actual "My Anime List" section, the "Anime Stats" on the Panel doesn't correspond to it, however, I'll try deleting the whole list, and updating it one more time to see if it clears out all the issues. Again tho, thanks for the patch.

As I thought it worked, if anyone else has a similar problem, just delete the old list and import it again, everything works out.

The "delete old list" feature has been removed and I am still having this exact problem.

Could really use some help. Apparently that MS in Computer Science is helping out at this moment...

What I said in the other topic, I assume you haven't specified series_anime_id. When you import the list it says that entries were updated, but nothing happened and there won't happen anything because the import feature just doesn't know which entries you want to import.

I had that feeling. Was just hoping that the system matched the closest entry.
Am going to try importing into AniDB first, then the transition should be straightforward.
