| I'd agree about the loophole factor. Basing off the things I've seen in season 1; Reiko's story is considerably enigmatic. Not too much is revealed from the separate and ephemeral piece of memories. Also given that she was the previous owner of the yuujinchou and her abilities at a youthful age. The memories that each youkai shared with Natsume never showed her being older. So I can't help but to think that she may have lost her powers to see youkai before she'd reached adulthood then started a family and bare children then died. |
| I agree with Jouhin...that sounds like it might be it, after meeting that guy who lost his ability to see that spirit...maybe it more common for them to lose it at certain times or maybe randomly. |

| First of all to die young could be in 20s maybe even higher if someone is below 40 they usually say die young. She could have forgotten about the book since she forgot about a lot of promises and books and other things. She could have met a guy that could see them too or maybe even have married a youkai, she maybe even moved away to a city where there isn't that many youkai. And from what ive seen in the story she had strong spiritual power so i don't think she ever became not able to see the youkai, there was a character that lost his power to see them but he was weak. |
