Ugh but from the previous episode's preview, I knew I shouldn't have expected Chizuru to fight :< BUT I got my hopes up LOL.Ahh should've known XD Well hopefully there will be more focus put onto the plot and Chizuru actually doing something on her own in the next one without any sort of "rescue" -.-;; And Gen-san will be missed ;< along with Yamazaki. |

... This gives new meaning to "demon vice-captain".... Even though the episodes were jumping like mad through time, it didn't seem like much happened with character development.... I wonder if the story is too constrained by trying to be in synch with historical battles and whatnot.... It makes me wonder if things will go anywhere in season 2. |

I am not sure if I should watch season 2. Plato is my friend — Aristotle is my friend — but my greatest friend is truth |

I was hoping that Chizuru would actually fight in this episode, thinking that this was the last episode, but I didn't get any fighting from her, just her pulling out the sword. Overall I think that this series was good, not bad, but also could have been better. 7/10 |

The series got better as it went imo. 7/10. I hope the second season is better though. |

I rated it 6/10 i think on my list...but honestly, I feel it should be 5/10 the only redeeming qualities of this show were its art, the oni characters, and of course, the men. I'm not going to lie, I'm a sucker for harem and good art. but I feel like these are not enough to make up for the predictable storyline and ANNOYING chizuru. my rant continues... silent_killer said: Yes , this is the best show of this season . Easily . i wonder how anyone could possibly think this ? I know that its YOUR opinion, and I have no right to say otherwise- but this is such a completely and utterly stupid statement, that I couldn't resist. sorry killer, I have nothing against you personally, but i do have something against your tastes. FMA: brotherhood and durarara beats hakuouki by a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG shot. Modified by Ouran12, 06-25-10, 1:44 PM |

up until now, i didn't really mind chizuru. but this episode? fuck, i wanted to punch her face in x100. this series really drew me in at the beginning and some of the other episodes had potential but getting nearer to the end just went downhill for me. this ED was actually nice and this ep sure was sad but i don't know whether if i want to watch season 2 now that Yamazaki's gone, he was my favourite ;A; but yeah, i'd give this series a 6 or a 7. |

Enjoyed this episode. Not as good as some of the earlier ones though. There is a lot to look foward to in the second season. IE: short hair and western uniforms, kufufu. Sad to see Yamazaki go, I liked him >__< If only Hakuouki was historically accurate, =p |

The anime seemed to be your typical reverse harem full of bishies. I was mistaken. I enjoyed it. Ignoring useless Chizuru, the male personalities were actually brilliant. I failed to see the plot though. Looks like it began the moment the series ended. Also, unexpectedly, I cried when Yamazaki died. I'm hoping for some movement and development in the second season. Yes, I'll be watching it. And why the fuck is the fanserviced trash, Ichiban, rated higher than this!? |

Wow I really didn't like the last episode, even less than the first. To me this just felt rushed. Plus two characters with some of the least screentime died. It's impossible for me to feel anything about their deaths. Now that's bad. Overall this series was nothing special, only average and sometimes really boring. Saito & Sano were great though <3 It gets a 5 from me and despite that low score I'll be watching the second season~ eatmymagnum said: Same here. Her screaming and crying is understandable because people around her were dying and stuff, but it was just annoying :/up until now, i didn't really mind chizuru. but this episode? fuck, i wanted to punch her face in x100. |

Liked it, at least it's way better than angel's beat's imo. Decent storyr, animation, actually historically accurate in the overall setting(compared to other shows like for example sengoku basara) and very good battles without blood censoring, 7/10 |

Wow.. I thought the ending of the anime was a bit sad, but not as sad as watching little kids battling it out in this thread. >_> Anyways. In my opinion, it was pretty good. I mean sure, the plot was kinda all over the place but the animation and lovable characters made up for it. I actually laughed quite a few times too. I will watch the second season for sure. I wonder if the story is too constrained by trying to be in synch with historical battles and whatnot.... It makes me wonder if things will go anywhere in season 2. Little to no character development besides MAYBE Hijikata, Chizuru and whoever's been "knocked out" already. And no relationship establishing whatsoever (why oh why is Hijikata apparently Chizuru's fav? Besides him being the first to be against killing her in ep 1/2 I don't bloody have a clue....) This particular ep was ok but this series (oops....I guess it's "season" then) had pretty horrible (aka: jumpy/messed up) pacing and I'm still freakin confused on what exactly is going on besides the overarching Shinsengumi vs Oni thing. It's not bad enough (in my eyes) that I'll skip out on the 2nd season...but it seriously needs some improvement.... (My avatar is an original creation-please don't take it) My random UtaPri: Repeat comments I've also played through Amazing Aria & Sweet Serenade. Currently working through UtaPri: Debut and UtaPri: All Stars <3 |

This was pretty bad. It had some potential in the first couple of eps, so that's a bit of a bummer. Overall I gave it 3/10. (Edit: this may go down. After watching the Angel Beats! final, this show was worse and they're currently scored the same, which doesn't reflect that distinction.) Shame they killed off Yamazaki, he was my second favourite after Souji. :/ Will probably watch the second season if only for bishieness. Modified by yamakasi, 06-25-10, 8:21 PM |

Chizuru is easily worse than Orihime in the worthless department. Not allowing Yamazaki to pass on his feelings had to be the lowest low of this show. How does she not feel the least bit responsible for most of these people's deaths? She begs to send a message, cries, runs her mouth, doesn't do what she's told, and places far too many people in danger because they have to protect her sorry ass. Worse than Angel Beats. 2/10. |

Jeez bringing guns to a sword fight how cowardly can you get! Well the only way it is acceptable if only you are fighting Ijikata Mamoru because you'll need all the help you can get even if totally futile. It that the better they could do with that anime, I sincerely hate when anime had so much potential to end up like that, too short. So there will be a second season. ![]() |
