THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Ok.

This episode was a bit too slow in my opinion. It gave the impression that it was stretched to fit into one episode. Of course, the dramatic element was overwhelmingly present but it feels like it lacked something.

A lot of revelevations and explanations on the nature of vampires are given though but since I've read the manga before, it is not imprressive to me at all....

I prefered the last one.

Good thing that I read chapter 4 before watching the raw ^^
Eventhough I didn't understand some of the dialogs, I like the episode : )

I was ok, but I prefer how the manga tells the story to be honest.

meh, i find it troublesome to read the manga of the Animes im reading. seeing as i know nothing of the manga, i found this epp to be adequate for its purpose. im sure the next one will have some good action or something.

it might be helful though to enjoy the two mediums independent of eachother since mangas and anime most always never match by a satisfactory degree.

I like the manga better, but I still like seeing it animated. Some of the scenes were very pretty this episode.

Also, I forgot just how bad I feel for Zero... T-T

Poor Zero. I'd give him a big hug too. I do like the dynamics between the characters in this ep. It seemed to bring out some things that just action wouldn't have.

I honestly have freak taste because ost of the time I'll enjoy a slow paced episode, it lets you analyse and appreciate what you're watching, though I only feel that if it's for a good series, which vampire knight is. The manga is still better, but it's safe to say that this is one of the better series of the season. Can't wait for the next!

I liked this episode; there were some dull moments, but overall it was done pretty well. The drama could have been handled a bit better, I suppose... or perhaps that's just me and my dislike of Yuuki speaking. :P

Yay, more Aidou screentime~ I like him better in the manga, but I'm always happy to see him.

The end with Zero and Yuuki was done well. And man, Zero looked hot in those clothes. =D I don't remember the chairman speaking with the Hunter's head so soon, though. It seems like they're going to speed things up a bit. Oh well; that doesn't really matter, I suppose.

Hmm, a tad boring but it was alright. Though I did feel sorry for Zero, the manga was a bit better.

I REALLY enjoyed it! :D But I also love Kaname, and this is the most screentime he's gotten so far xD I didn't think there was much difference between the manga and the anime in this ep. They hit it pretty much spot on.

The blood drop with Aidou was cool. The whole scene with Aidou and Yuuki, in fact, rocked! One of my favorite scenes! My only complaint was 1) the commercial break that broke the suspense :P and 2) how was she moving backwards if her foot was stuck to the ground?

I'm getting used to the designs, even though the animation is still shotty. And no, the hunter association head wasn't seen this early, but I think it was an excellent touch. Rather than her appearing out of no where later on.

Aidou = great
Kaname = fantastic <333
Zero = superb (the bed scene was also very well done)

I think I was happiest with this ep out of them all so far :)

it was an ok episode, the manga is better of course but i didn't find any differences between this ep and the story on the manga, the part where idou freeze the blood on his glass, i think it was exactly the same. i see next episode covering the manga until the end of chapter 7

Slow episode. Still interested in how things play out with Zero of course.

Anyway, I think I might be picking up the manga...

I'll admit that I went into this series incredibly biased. I was thinking "oh god no, not another badly done shoujo anime, and one with vampires in it at that."

but I have been proven wrong.

The character development is great, and I actually liked the fact that the episodes don't always move quickly. Too many anime tend to move at a pace that indicates that maybe the director or whoever may have amped up on some mountain dew before going to work.
When the story is relaxed enough moving at it's own pace then I feel more relaxed watching it. I notice and appreciate more of whats happening, and the characters don't look like they are acting in a forced or rushed way just to keep the series moving in a quick way.

I also like how things aren't getting tied up in neat little bows at the end of each ep. Many shoujo anime would have had Zero stay in the Day class after an emotional scene like that. Instead, no matter what Yuki did about it, Zero still ended up in the night dorm.

and last, the ending, No matter how many times I watch the ending theme, I can't help but think that this is one of the more awesome ending themes I've seen!(Strangely enough, that's what led me to give everything after episode 1 a shot.)

I liked this episode a lot more than the previous one. The drama was done well and I enjoyed the soundtrack. The animation is what it is and I've accepted it. Really, nothing to complain about. Good episode.
