| even tough i dont really know who Kawashima Tadashi is along with his manga "Alive" also but i must admit that he was actually brave enough to off fight his cancer and trying to finish off the manga till the very end and i was impressed because of that as he did this for his fans will be very upest and i wouldn't be able to see more of their works anymore and seeing them turn into an anime adaptation as well. does anybody agree with me on this? P.S. is Kawashima Tadashi a brother of the authour who does the manga of "Naruto" as i once heard that the author of that manga has a brother and also has the same surname of "Kawashima"( i think) which i didn't know about before, does anybody know? |

| I have not read this Manga nor do I know what it is, but to complete the Manga just so we could read his finished work is something to respect. I think I will put this on my plan to read list. He deserves the utmost respect for his work ethics. |

| That's really sad to hear. Bought the first volume of the manga a pair of weeks ago, and have read and loved the first chapter. Need to finish this. It's really respectable to finish his work for his fans while fighting against cancer. Most people wouldn't do that. He'll be remembered. Rest in piece. |

| I'm fairly sure the brother you're thinking of is the person who does 666 Satan. oh i see thanks and i also checked earlier by being on MangaFox and checked and looked up a series as a oneshot which was before naruto and cheked the author's name of it and i turned out to be wrong as i wondering that this author Kawashima Tadashi would have a brother or some sort but still thanks for pointing that out for me still just in case i might still get it wrong. |

| How sorrowful. In the bland genre that is shonen, Alive was one of a few series that I actually considered great. I would have love to see his next work. There in lied the heart of a dedicated writer, even when death was knocking at his door he didn't let his story die. |
| This may sound far-fetched... but... I think the will to finish the manga is the thing that kept him alive... Maybe if he didn't finish the manga, his body wouldn't let up this soon... then again... RIP. |
