I use Sony Vegas. I originally started with Camtasia (I know, wtf!?) and eventually dled a trial of premiere. I didn't like it much either, so when my trial was done I picked up Vegas and never went back. I'd like to try different programs out, but I'm not quite ready to leave my comfort zone.

I started off with Windows Movie Maker (as many do) and then I tried out PowerDirector but I didn't get much out of that. So now I've got Sony Vegas and I'm still slowly figuring it out.

Jumped head in with Magix Movie Editor. I had downloaded Adobe Premier but its min spec was 1 GB RAM so just got used to Magix. Low spec and effective program :)

I started out with VirtualDub, but moved onto Premiere 6.5 a year later. Been using Premiere for five years now. I've toyed around with After Effects some to supplement it. I was forced to try out both Magix and Final Cut Pro - hated them both. Never really got the hang of Cinelerra either.

Only thing I worry about is whether Premiere 6.5 can continue to handle my editing, since I'll be attempting to do more stuff in HD (I've already done a couple things in 720p, but both of those were in After Effects; the 1080p video I have planned will be more traditionally edited, so I'll need to use Premiere - probably would be a good time to see if I can use some variant of bait-and-switch editing).

Flip, I have actually tried making an AMV, but I kinda gave up on it ^^;

Too much of a perfectionist to actually finish it D:

But, I absolutely ADORED using Sony Vegas Pro~ ^^

Thanks to Shiro-chan for scripting! ♥

I jumped right into getting Adobe Premiere Pro and have never gone back since.

I've been tempted to try and use After Affects but have always been intimidated by it. Maybe I'll try to learn how to do a few things in it since I have in on my computer now...

I find premiere fairly straight forward once you get used to video editing. Like how the timelines and effects and tools work in general.
