This was indeed calming. However I have a bad feeling about that gun.

Feels very Aria-esque. I think I'm going to like this.

Relaxing, serene , intrinsically beautiful yet has a subtle tinge of sadness.

I really love this series.

Alpha was beautifully drawn in the pilot story and most of the early stories.... and while I do like the way Ashinano drew her in the later years, she's incredibly gorgeous and handsome (in a womanly way) in the early stories, something that Ashinano lost later on.
Alpha also showed a sense of humor with Ojisan that she also lost later on. I think Alpha is over all one of the greatest manga characters ever, tho I dare say she was at her prime, her best within the first two dozen stories.

Think of how cool Alpha looked the first time she rides to Yokohama for coffee beans.
Then look at her in the conclusion of the series. She was still cute but the cool factor of the pilot story was gone.... Story 139, where Alpha flung her camera around to take some wicked cool shots, should have been the concluding chapter.

I wholeheartedly agree, though it's only the first chapter.

I had this title marked as "Dropped" because the only chapter I had read was one I found in a mid-1990s edition of Afternoon I had lying around my place. I have no idea which chapter it was though I do remember there were several pages of little or no dialogue or text and images of flight. Anyways, I found the 2009/2010 recompilation tankoubon at my local Book-Off today (I live in Yamagata prefecture) and purchased the first three volumes. I suspect they've compressed this title into 10 volumes from the original 14. So I guess it's time to start anew...
