Well, ADV has licensed this... I hope that this does not have any effect on fansubs

Making a second exclusive announcement this week, ADV has confirmed the licensing of Byousoku 5 Centimeter - a chain of short stories about their distance (5cm Per Second). This second full-length film from the independent director Makoto Shinkai, which is composed of three individual segments, will be released theatrically later in the year and on DVD in December. ADV has previously released both Shinkai's debut OVA Voices of a Distant Star and his feature The Place Promised In Our Early Days. Source: ICv2

I dunno about Triad but I'm sure KAA will release this once they have all DVDs.
Hopefully there's a version other than Blue-ray rip. 'Coz I doubt my laptop can play a blue-ray rip without lagging -_-'

How sad... oh well. Either, I'll buy it or wait for KAA.

I know what you mean. I just tried Paprika on my laptop and it lagged. I need to try it on my desktop. It should run well on that.

Same here. Also it doesn't look like I'll be able to get my hands on the DVD once it's out somewhere. Sucks.

Still no sign of a UK release. With no ADV in the picture is anyone likely to pick up the UK release?

One piece of UK news is that according to amazon.co.uk there will be (providing the date doesn't slip again) a UK release on DVD and BD 28th March 2011 from Manga UK. It must have been crossing the Atlantic a 5 centimeters per sec to take 3 years to get here.

Darn't. It appears that there will be no UK BR edition just the DVD edition. I'll try and find the link to the inteview with Manga UK. Some sort of mix up as to the BR rights
